With as much trash talking the Leghumpers infesting this board are doing, they'd #### well better not blow it on game day. Lest we forget:
* The media (and Vegas) are mostly calling this game in UGA's favor. Some by quite a bit. UGA is supposed to win this game, according to the experts. What are you on here flapping your gums about?
* UGA has (again) a lot to lose if they blow this game (again). A loss to a "rebuilding" Clemson team would not look great, especially given that you now have defensive coordinator Jesus. Good luck getting a playoff bid if you lose in week 1 to us. You've got at least 1-2, maybe even 3 losses later in the year.
* On the flipside, expectations aren't super high for Clemson this year. Some publications have us completely unranked. If we beat you, we exceeded expectations. If we lose, it was "expected", anyway.
Clemson relishes and excels at being the underdog. We love the disrespect. We have gone on the road and knocked off highly overrated teams on the road many times in the last ten years. Beat us and you just did what you were expected to do. Lose to us (again), and it's going to all but rule you out of the playoff (you've got 1-3 more losses on your schedule).
Also, if you manage to blow this game a second year in a row, I hope you'll stick around and eat crow, unlike last year. We saw maybe one or two of you stop by to fess up.

I quite often hear GA fans citing our overall record 40 something to 18??, and i get tired of reminding them that most of those wins came against us when we were strictly a Military school. (huge recruiting disadvantage). Not to mention the fact that Clemson had to adhere to scholarship limits as per Acc regulations, in the meanwhile GA could go and sign 45 players a year or whatever. After the ncaa mandated scholarship limits in 1973, our record against them balanced out somewhat..

You basically said that if you win the game, you are awesome, but if you lose the game, it doesn't matter because you didn't care anyway, you were supposed to lose, and this game doesn't matter to you... The OP was talking about MEDIA PERCEPTION. Tiger fans fully expect to be competitive and possibly even win this game. However aside from Clemson fans no one else around the country truly excepts us the win this game.
The game does matter to us and if we lose then no one will be saying it didn't matter to us. That's for crazy UGA and SC fans to make when they lose a game they should win.
Also Auburn, SC and another team could beat you. Don't forget you lost to Vanderbilt last year.....

Trust me, I have seen where people have already posted on here calling the UGA game an "exhibition game" so if you lose, there will be plenty of people saying "it doesn't matter" and "as long as we beat FSU", etc...
Yes those 2 COULD beat us, but I doubt it (especially Auburn). But please don't throw the Vandy game in my face like that is an insult. We had EVERYONE injured on a road game, and 2 HORRIBLE targeting calls that gave them the game... This years UGA will go back to crushing vandy like we do every year.

mostly because I don't ever want the coots to win it and I hate them more then you, slightly. That being said Auburn is a lot more dangerous then you are giving them credit for. And I wasn't saying Vanderbilt would beat you again this year but that injuries, bad luck, etc are a part of the game and the same thing could happen to you this year.

I'm not worried about Auburn, they were extremely lucky, and were were extremely injured... And yes those are part of the game, but the amount of injuries UGA had last year, there is no team in the country that would have been able to survive through all that. And that is not just a UGA opinion, ask any sports writer and they will tell you the same

You guys just weren't as good a team as expected. You losing to us when you were pretty healthy tells me that. The game wasn't even close, and it took a garbage time TD while we were running prevent defense to put you within a field goal.

Dabo has been at Clemson since 2008, and he has 1.

March Richt: 13 / 2 = 6.5 years per SEC title, but hasn't won one in almost ten years.

Reading comprehension is the key.
I fully expect to at least be competitive, and think we have a great shot at beating you. But I am not what drives national perception.
If you lose to us, it's going to be a big blow to your national perception. A second loss to a weak old ACC Clemson team.
If we beat you, we continue building a reputation as the team that gives SEC teams trouble.

You keep going on about us, but your small brain can't seem to comprehend the fact that the national media doesn't give a lick about us this year.
If you listen to them, you are basically showing up and picking on a team that isn't supposed to do much this year anyway.
I know better than to rule us out for much more, but do try to understand that:
A) UGA is favored to win by over a touchdown.
B) If you blow it, you will not sniff the playoff. Especially if we go on to lose as many games as you say we are.
Consequently: UGA has a lot more to lose in this game, whereas we have a lot to gain. The pressure is on the Dawgs. We get to go in as the underdog, which is a role that we have relished.
So sleep good at night, my pea-brained mutt friend. A loss in game 1 wrecks your season from the beginning. A Clemson loss doesn't matter to the national media, because they think we're not going to be good enough for the playoffs this year, anyway.
