Old Miss

Jan 18, 2013, 2:17 PM

I can't wait to watch the fire from Old Miss when somebody finds out what is really going on there. #1 WR in nation committed today. This doesn't pass the smell test

The soon to be dumpster fire that is Ole #### will soon ignite.

I don't think Ole Miss is doing anyting wrong.

Jan 18, 2013, 2:22 PM

I think they have a coach like ours who inspires belief in something greater. and as long as the big time kids they are getting aren't the ones we are in the running for i think its a good thing. they are weaking the sec buy creating parity. they are getting better while the schools the recruits would have gone to (LSU BAMA AUBURN) are less talented. The only competion the west has for kids is within its own division while the east has to compete with CU FSU UM UL UNC and the west. its easier to keep the east down.

I sincerely doubt it. Their boosters are notorious for giving out $$$ like candy on Halloween.

Ole Miss and Ole Miss boosters are 2 different things

Jan 18, 2013, 2:30 PM

and regaurdless of whether boosters are involved or not dont think they need it.

Did Clemson need it? no they did what ole miss is doing. invest in facilities, get a recruiter for coach and go sell the program as well as the idea you can be a 4 year starter and biulder and not have to wait til your senior year to start at bama. You will have a chance to come back from injury instead of being replaced.

They really do have a lot to sell if you accent what is positive and unique about your school. just like CU does.

Ole Miss is throwing out some serious money

Jan 18, 2013, 2:40 PM

believe that.....

I dont believe that

Jan 18, 2013, 5:07 PM

I could be wrong. But I'm at least as likely to be right as you are.

Cool, but don't be suprised if the NCAA comes knocking

Jan 18, 2013, 9:44 PM

their boosters, or a key booster actually, is throughing out the $$$ like hot cakes right now. There's a reason that every 5 star recruit that early on didn't have Ole Miss on their radar now have them in their top 5.

You should know better than to .....

Jan 18, 2013, 2:59 PM [ in reply to I don't think Ole Miss is doing anyting wrong. ]

actually have a thought process on the issue. Most of our fans can only fathom that another school with a subpar recent football history can only get recruits by paying people.

Im with you on the attractiveness of Ole Miss. High Freeze has a dynamic personality and is a winner in life.

Most people on here probably didnt even notice their season this year. They had their ups and downs and finished 7-6, but blew a few games they could/should have won....TAMU, LSU and Vandy. Could have very easily been a 9-10 win team in year they were supposed to finish last in the West.

They have something going there and Bo Wallace will surely improve on what he did last year (making costly mistakes due to maturity - kind of like Boyd did).

Re: Old Miss

Jan 18, 2013, 2:23 PM

Do you think all this sudden influx of talent will really translate into any more wins for them? Doubtful it will make much difference to their conference success.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They will have to put back to back classes together and

Jan 18, 2013, 2:34 PM

wait til they are juniors and seniors to see the dividends. Then recruit off the wins all while investing in facilities. that is the cycle of building a program. That is what we (CU) did. we just happened to be able to go 10 and 2 and win a Championship in our rebuilding years. it would not have happened if we played in the the West.

I seriously doubt it will happen there. JMO, but I don't see them as a part of any serious winning tradition any time soon. Too many obstacles in their way.

let them have all tha players they want it aint gonna change tha fact that there gonna lose to lsu alabama and are auburn are arkansas err year

I would love for Ole Miss to become a dominant SECWest

Jan 18, 2013, 2:57 PM

power. Sick of the Bama-LSU-(sometimes) Auburn stranglehold.

But I never see them getting above Coot status at best. A minor threat, no more.

Remember the Cluckers have signed the #1 player in the USA a couple of times lately. Folks out in Texas and midwest had to be saying "what theeff?" there also.
