Colin is a black in America, something Dabo and most of Tnet aren't.
Most of Tnet is out of touch and uneducated about social issues. They have no interest in the subject, so they don't do research. They aren't concerned in fixing issues. It's really sad

African American high school drop out rates are significantly higher than any other race.
African Americans grow up in single parent homes more than any other race (percentage wise).
More African Americans are locked up in prison than any other race.
Your turn.

With all of the positive things these players could have done to help the poverty stricken neighborhoods and really make a difference, not showing respect for the national anthem is what they decide to get behind. Spin it anyway you want it's still not the correct action.

Bro, what the #### are our opinions actually going to fix?
Sep 14, 2016, 7:35 PM
[ in reply to Re: Nuk was right about Dabo ] |

That's the issue, everybody has an opinion but what is it helping?
I don't have the right answers. But from what I've seen whether you're left right or in the middle nobody has had any success changing anybody else's opinion or making the situation "better"
So I ask you, what is the right answer? What differentiates your opinion and why will it be successful in causing real social change? If you know how to solve long-standing social issues and you choose instead to nit-pick and degrade others on a Clemson football internet forum then you are greatly misusing this information and it needs to be in someone elses hands.
Use your enlightenment responsibly and tell us what opinion we should have and how to use this opinion to generate positive social change.

Your and Nuk's comments have nothing to do with what Dabo said. He didn't say he understood what they felt and didn't say he had walked in their shoes. But, Dabo and most Americans think Kapernick went about expressing his concerns and protested the wrong way. Dabo has a right and we have a belief that Kapernick was wrong in sitting for the national anthem - not that we identify or don't identify with him or his concerns.

Not every African American in this great country is a murder suspect. It's just a dumb generalization. There's always going to be awful, horrible people in this world. It's super ignorant to judge a whole race based off of those people.
For one thing, those people who are murdering are never going to be the ones to stand up and make a difference and call for a change. It's just a stupid comment. And to me, people who make comments like this have a lot more words behind them, but they keep them bottled up.

it has been said that his muslim girlfriend is who encouraged him to take the stand against the National Anthem. She is also a dj for mtv. She is a spokesman for BLM. She also a supporter for the brutal Communist dictatorship of Cuba. His wedding to her will be an islamic ceremony.
If he thinks blacks are oppressed, he need not look any further than his own bio dad, who deserted his white mother while pregnant. The only thing that oppresses blacks are blacks. With his bio dad deserting him, he should know how that works.
What he and the other blacks are doing is dividing the nation more than it is already divided. That itself is oppressing people.
He has no idea what the national anthem is about. It is not about oppression, it is about freedom. That same freedom that makes it OK for him to accept that American $$ that is supplied by the American people. I don't see him protesting that, do you??
His point in this protest is doing nothing but making things worse. Until he shows actions for help for "his" people, he is just an attention #####

Are you serious when you say that only blacks suppresses blacks?
That is what most reasonable people view as a parochial and out of touch pint of view. You can't comment on suppression because you have never been oppressed or suppressed.
Most on here are worried about recruiting when that just shows that it's all about the bottom line, top black athletes coming to Clemson to play football, screw what else they have to deal with pre and post clemson. I'm a graduate of clemson 2003 and I know that it's real.
Just ignorant as hell. You can't fathom it because you've never been on the other side of the coin. Getting pulled over because you're in a nice car, riding in a nice neighborhood, btw that I live in, etc. Go to hell with that bs man!

nice,,,,if you disagree with me, just tell me to go to hell....yep, that makes you look pretty one sided to people's thoughts.
I have been on the other side of the coin. My son's wife is black. She was not oppressed. She had parents that would have had a fit if she or her siblings ever made a comment about being oppressed. She went to Clemson on an academic scholarship because she was not held back by parents, but pushed to do her best. She never had one problem at Clemson. I have bi-racial grandchildren. My son and his wife would have a fit if their children ever said they are being held back because they are half black.
As a teenager, my son and his friends were stopped in the mall and had his bags searched, trying to say they shoplifted. They all had receipts. When I went to the store to complain, I was told that most shoplifting is done by male teenagers and they were just checking. Once, I was driving in a very nice neighborhood after my car had been wrecked and had not been fixed yet. The question to me from the cop was why was I in that neighborhood. My answer was because my parents lived there. So, don't tell me I have not been on the other side of the coin. That happens to thousands of people every day..people of all colors. Difference is, most races do not try to make it public but go on about their day.
So, don't tell me I can't have a point of view on something I have experienced.

I'm not speaking on that guys particular instance of getting pulled over in a suburb. I'm just saying compared to your example, I'm sure there are some far more extreme examples of oppression. But the fact that everyone wants to say they have been oppressed, seems silly to me when you consider some of the things that people are born in to and face every day.
But of course, it's America. Everybody has the same chance from birth to be the president, a CEO, or whatever else you want to be, no matter your upbringing or background, right?

I would have LOVED to have my education payed for with the prospect of making millions before I was 30. This is your idea of oppression? You know that playing football is completely voluntary right?
Something tells me you don't have a grasp of real statistics. Do you know what the percentage of single parenthood among blacks are currently? Was that caused by the white man? Do you know what the rate of black on black crime is compared to white on black? I'll let you sort through fact and the mountains of fiction that's propagated by individuals with an agenda.

legalize drugs would fix the issues. Most blacks are in prison for selling drugs and they stay there because they don't have the money to get the charges dropped. Not that other races don't sell drugs. It seems Blacks sell and whites consume. What? That's so racist. Or is it objective? Whites also are more involved with the supply chain which involves less transactions and less visibility so they stay under the radar. So my theory is that blacks get more exposure because they are on the sales end. I got pulled over once years ago and frisked and the reason was that I was with a black man in a black neighborhood. I was profiled. They suspected that I was buying drugs or looking to buy drugs from a black person. Me thinks, blacks get arrested for selling drugs to white people. Once you get a rap sheet, you can't get a job, you can't raise your kids. So many things you can't do and so many things which are apparent. So my solution would be to legalize drugs and let non violent offenders out of prison with a clean slate. The government should not have the right to protect people from themselves and if people want to take drugs, other people should be free to sell them what they want. The government can't stop what people want to do to themselves. The war on drugs has really taken a toll on Black Teenagers. If we legalized drugs, white people could get their own drugs and black people wouldn't have to risk their lives selling drugs to them. They could get real jobs.

Nuk was dead wrong about Dabo and so are lots of others
Sep 15, 2016, 12:42 AM

Dabo wasn't speaking on the issue of what Kapernick was protesting on. Dabo was speaking on the type of protesting. Dabo's point was, whatever the protest was for, kneeling during the anthem is more of a distraction and does nothing for the cause. Dabo was in no way speaking about the cause itself. The cause could've been anything.
For people to chime in about that Dabo is a rich white guy or he has never experienced what Kap has or anything else about the Black Lives Matter movement aren't following what Dabo was saying. They are completely different things.
Dabo is saying that if Kapernick wants to protest something he believes in, he should go a different route. Do it on his own time. Donate money to the cause. March with others and help bring people together make a stand. His mentions of MLK were referring to protests like he had.
What Dabo is saying that right now the only attention that Kapernick is bringing to himself is a divisive debate on whether or not kneeling for the anthem is disrepectful or not. Is it really bringing attention to the cause itself? To Dabo he thinks it isn't and Kap should take a different tactic.
Now if Nuk or anyone else that disagrees with Dabo actually said they disagree bc they think kneeling is the right way to protest, then I can go with that, but disagreeing b/c you say Dabo doesn't understand the cause is missing Dabo's whole point in the first place!
