Wish he would have committed to us, but best of luck to him. May not have wanted to follow in his brothers footsteps.

West Virginia campus and school are pathetic and so is the town. It’s one of my least favorite places.

I can see Penn State, but losing out to West Virginia? That’s like losing out to SCAR.

One of my life dreams is checking out college football all over the country and I love Penn State. There’s numerous schools that I really like, but I was totally turned off by West Virginia and it’s environment

He would have been a good player here, but sometimes you have to blaze your own trail ...

Wishing Josiah the very best and hope he has a great career and happy college experience. In the meantime we are happy to have his big brother here at Clemson!

Not sure why people are upset by this.

I posted on another thread earlier today that the only reason I see us recruiting him is because of his brother. 24/7 has him as a three star and the number 353 player in the country. He’s nowhere close to being a top 10 or top 20 linebacker. This is not the kind of guy Clemson should be recruiting at this point. If his brother wasn’t already on the team we don’t recruit him. So I don’t really see the loss. Not sure why people are disappointed or upset by this.

There have been recruits/signees with siblings/relatives that Clemson did not recruit the younger sibling for varying reasons; you cannot possibly say that Venebles would blow smoke about a player, when that has NEVER been his MO...

Nobody has mentioned grades. He may be borderline academically and West Virginia is on place of his favorites he could get in with some NIL money too.

Just WOW...

What a nonsensical uninformed thing to imply about any Clemson football recruit... Dabo is fully vested and knowledgeable about a recruit's academic performance, and only deems a recruit a fit for the program when he is deemed culturally, athletically and academically fit for the program. We offer pretty much the fewest number of scholarships in any given year, so it makes not logical sense for Dabo offer a potential academic casualty who not a top 25 5-star recruit. Even the top 25 5-star recruit still has to fit the profile that Dabo has had in place for his entire HC time at Clemson...
Be better brother...

We have offered about 8 LBs. Maybe HE was NOT our top

choice?
Maybe his offer was contingent on waiting to see what happened? Maybe he decided to take the bird in the hand at WVU?
Who knows?
If we miss on all the others, then maybe we can see missing on this one as a disaster.
But, I have a feeling we get a couple of really good LBs this cycle.

Dabo has always maintained that every official offer is committable. That doesn't appear to have changed, so more than likely, Trotter just made a decision that he considered to be best for him. Klubnick did not get an offer until Ty Simpson had told us he was not committing to us. The history is that the offers go out to anyone they will accept after both the recruit and Clemson know that they are capable of being All In...

Dabo is also transparent with players about who they view as their top choices. Plus, just because we sent an offer, doesn't mean the coaches communicate with the player as much. Clemson probably didn't communicate as much as West Virginia because he was not as high on our board. None of us know who the coaches have atop their LB board.
Drayk Bowen was the top, but he committed to Notre Dame
I believe Troy Bowles and Jamal Anderson are near the top as well. They just recently offered Tony Rojas and Marcellius Pulliam too.
