Best moment so far in Olympic coverage?

Jul 31, 2012, 6:56 AM

For me it has to be that heartwarming story about that swimmers 3rd cousin who battled a drug addiction during those few weeks in the summer of 1978 only to recover and dedicate his life to reading Dr. Seuss books to orphaned balck bears.

anyone else seen anything amazing at the Olympics?

Thanks NBC!!!!

I don't watch those events where the winners are based....

on some subjective judging or points system like gymnastics, diving, or skating.

Olympic officials are dirty and clearly play favorites. Olympic athletes should not train for years only to have their fate determined by corrupt judges.

Nips.

I saw them when they interviewed Kerry Walsh Jennings and Misty May Treanor after winning their first match yesterday. Kerry's shirt was wet with sweat and BAM, there it was.

IT WAS PURE AWESOMENESS!!!

The Gymnast who missed the bar and pancaked

Don't think I ever saw that at the olympics before.

After watching the opening ceremonies and realizing

that I had never heard of more than 10 of the countries that had athletes competing, I figured I wasn't smart enough to watch any more...I needed to go back to the geography lessons.

To me hands down it was NBC airing a Today Show

Jul 31, 2012, 10:22 AM

commercial promoting it's interview with "Gold Medal Winning" Missy Franklin minutes before they were about to show her race. Way to go NBC!

If you want to watch the Olympics during primetime....

Jul 31, 2012, 11:55 AM

without knowing the results, don't watch or listen to the NBC Nightly News at 6:30. They report the results every evening but at least they do give you a heads-up before doing so in case you want to turn the channel or mute the volume.

but this commercial ran during their Primetime Olympic coverage. As they were going to commercial they said "coming up next, the women's 100 m backstroke" then the commercial aired for the today show talking about the interview with Franklin, basically spoiling the race, then they came back from commercial and showed the race.

For the record, I don't watch tape delayed stuff. There's a zillion ways to get it live and I'll do that instead of waiting.

None. Worst coverage I've ever seen. Opening ceremony

blew chunks. And at night I feel like I'm watching the "View", which is why I'm mostly ignoring TV and watching live online when I can. The only things I'm really interested in seeing this year are men's swimming, men's track, and the men in hoops when they get into the medal round.
