Leaving for Savannah in a few hours for 5 days to celebrate my anniversary. Any must stop dining areas in Savannah? Hidden gems that are not the tourist places?

Pink House Alligator Soul Shrimp Factory Crab Shack is a tourist spot if you like steamed food Bar Food on Habersham is a cool little spot. AJs on Tybee if you're out there Vic's on the River
Plenty more really. If you're there 5 days, you'll run into plenty of options

There’s a reason tourists keep going to Paula Deens place, The Lady and Sons. Good food Id go back for if I was local or not.

You're gonna pay 40 bucks for a meat and 3, get a Yankee server that fakes their "y'all" horribly, bmf probably wait in line an hour for it too.
Do it once, if at all IMO.

My wife an I went to Paula Dean's restaurant and we were disappointed. Nothing great - just average at best. Vegetables seemed to be right out of the can and warmed in a pot. Sweet potato casserole was good and the fried chicken was very good. Tourist trap feel.

Nobody that lives in the area goes to PD's. It's the country food version of South Of The Border 😂

Pink House is the only restaurant I remember and I thought it was good. Sat downstairs in the bar area and it was so dark I could hardly see. The homeless population was unbelievable the last time I was there but that has been a few years. Hope you enjoy your trip!

You should see the line to get reservations at Paula Dean’s. That was a hard pass after seeing that.

I was joking earlier about Carey Hilliard's, but Baldino's are a hail of a good sub. They have one they make with Turkey, cheese, cranberry spread and other goodies. It's like a thanksgiving sandwich.

My daughter used to go to school there. I was fond of Little Duck Diner. Great for Lunch or breakfast. Also, Big Bon Bodega is a great place for a breakfast bagel sandwich.

I completely agree that Carey Hilliards is unhealthy but treating yourself to fried seafood every once in a while seems pretty reasonable. Treat yourself every once in a while!

I know it’s a chain but we’ve had some really good meals at the Chart House there.
For an after dinner must - Savannah Smiles Piano Bar is the most fun I’ve had at a bar in a very long time.
