In your opinion, how does this change the hierarchy of snap distribution?

Mafah should’ve been getting more snaps, he’s the better pure RB. Shipley runs blind and you can’t do that with our not so great OL

Mafah is a guy that needs the ball! Gets better with each carry

Marah is so much more patient and doesn't run into a pile of bodies time after time.

Ship gets arm tackled and has zero balance. Ship needs his screens and dumps and stop the btw tackle stutter steps for 1yd gains. Give Mafah the ball on true running plays.
Actually gove Thomas more carries, he looked good today and broke tackles.

Mafah is the engine. Shipley is the accessory package. No one can argue that after today. Mafah has looked the nfl back all season. If Shipley leaves Mafah and Hanes will be 2k rushing next season. A true Thunder -n- Lightning combo.

still gets a ton of carries. I think Mafah earned and will get the most, but Shipley is still a big part of this offense and of this team.

Mafah impressed me, but he did have two fumbles. I am counting the silly pitch to him as a fumble. Having said all that I am fine with Mafah getting the majority of the snaps, but I want to know why there were more holes opened up today even on obvious run downs and plays. I loved how hard Mafah ran. I would like to see the yards after contact stat for Mafah today.

I don’t know if that silly pitch / fumble was improv by CK2 or if it was a G.Riley play.
As with everyone, I hated that play. I won’t blame CK2 for a big mistake even if it was improv on his behalf.
All I will say is that I sure hope that that play wasn’t a G.Riley special.

Pretty sure it was improv. Klubnik held the ball out for a handoff, but no one was there. Then he saw that Mafah had run wide for a pitch and I think Klubnik pitched it late after Mafah had decided he wasn't getting a pitch and took his eyes off the ball. That's what it looked like anyway.

Thank goodness that you take the time to insert a smart and sober comment into a pile of Shipley bashing posts.
Mafah shouldn’t be carrying the ball more than 20 times per game except in case of an emergency situation (such as today).
Shipley and Mafah are a co-equal 1 - 2 RB punch.

No! They are not equal. Tbat is a everyone gets a trophy comment. Shipley is a good back, but for a leader in the rushing attach he is not the guy. The style of mafah is a guy that sets the attitude for the entire offense. Offensive football is about execution, but the attitude is the biggest piece.

Mafah should have been rb1 all season. WS is not impressive.

Mafah as a pure runner, patient behind and between blockers. Then get Shipley in the open field, he’s still faster east and west when he has breathing room. I’d like to see more of both of them in this complementary fashion.
I think Phil would have had a bigger role to date but he’s gotta clean up fumbles and game-breaking errors. Had a brilliant day but he still ended up giving them the ball under 2 min in a one possession game. You just can’t keep doing that kind of thing at his level

Why aren't you coaching?

It's amazing that an intent personality knows more than a coach who has won 166 games, two NC trophies, trained some of the best WRs, linemen and QBs in the NFL yet you can evaluate play better than him.
My hat's off to you, SIR!

I would line Mafah up as RB1 more and have Shipley be more involved in passing game. Whether out of the wing formation or put him in the slot. Let him still run some from the wing to keep Mafah fresh and keep the defense honest

However, he still carries the ball without keeping it tucked in sometime. If you notice, he actually wrapped the ball with both arms toward the end of the game. It's about time.

20 touches each at a minimum imo. Shipley on field for more of the passing downs and Mafah on short yardage and early downs. Mafah probably should get more like 25+ but I would not just leave Ship on the bench, like it or not he's one of the few players that generates yards. Plus you saw Mafah gassing right? The big guy is best when fresh.
