Bittersweet find...

Going through some stuff at my parents' house yesterday and happened upon this... Couldn't have cherry-picked a better game for my first DV experience, but couldn't have imagined a more nightmarish result. Any other of you Tigernetters there that day?

I was there, and was 7 years old.

I remember the rain, rained all day. We ate chicken in the car in the parking lot and laughed at the people that couldn't find a spot because they came too late. I remember, as a 7 year old, thinking it was odd that so many people would want to stand in the rain that long, and I do mean stand, not sit. Lastly, I clearly remember everyone thinking we were going to win, and then it happened. So many old men cussing going out the gate that day.

We had HIGH hopes that year and it was dashed by that play that will haunt us forever. I was sooooo mad that I pledged to be in Tallahassee for the rematch the next year. I had never been happier when Wayne Simmons had the Pick Six right in our direction in the end zone seats we had. That was one fun weekend in Tally

Beer on cops foot
Aug 13, 2015, 10:21 PM

Looking for place to park had my beer between the seat and door of car. Of all times for my power windows to stop working, Highway Patrolman, jerked open my car door and my beer fell out onto his foot. He proceeded to pick it up and threw it in my lap and using several unfriendly words, told me to park right over there. Even though the outcome wasn't what we wanted, it was a awesome game!!!

That was my junior year at Clemson. As I recall (or as I don't recall), I had a few beers after that game.

I wish I knew! A man who was my adopted grandfather (and also, ironically, a Florida Stare fan) surprised me with the tix the day before the game. He was the only one cheering in our section after Donnell Woolford knocked Leroy Butler out of bounds and the only one smiling during the ride home!

Wasn't there but...

...watching the TV telecast and was throwing everything I could get my hands on at my fireplace...thankfully mostly soft stuff. Thus began a very special dislike for Fla St.
Punt-rooskie lives in infamy.
We redeemed ourselves then next year in Tallahassee.

remember that very clearly, was in HS, couple years before Clemson. Still makes my stomach turn.
