When BC joined the ACC that several teams includingVPI sued the ACC on the grounds that they had weakened their league by accepting the Eagles into the conference. Apparently nothing became of the suit. I guess this isn’t an issue anymore since several teams have jumped ship this year.

As I recall, VT sued. The VA legislature threatened to cut off funding to VA if VT was not accepted. That's how VT got in. The ACC didn't want them because they would not add to the TV footprint. I don't recall any complaints about BC.

is, a basketball first conference. Because VT back at the time they got in was a good football program, year in and year out, with Frank Beamer as the Head Coach. Had they continued to be that good, it would certainly have added TV value to the ACC football package in that regard.

Not that it really matters, but the ACC has bigger issues. This conference, outside of Clemson is weak top to bottom and to add insult to injury we have dropped out of the National Playoff picture this year so that only makes the matter worse.
