I see a lot on hear who bash Tommy Bowden

And I heard JT bashing him this morning on WCCP. The story was that Tommy couldnt take the next step and Dabo at least was beating the teams he was suppose to beat. Yes a lot of truth in that but....I see aboslutely no difference in what we have today...actually I think we were BETTER THEN. I will explain. You see first and foremost TT knew how to beat the coots and to me...that is A1 in my book. Secondly The ACC was better when TT was our coach...yes I said overally the ACC was better. As a matter of fact it was head and shoulders better than what it is now. BC was much better. VT was sure as hell better..light years better. GT wsa better....much better. NC State was much better. Wake Forest was bit time better. Maryland was even a stronger team. NC was better. Duke was a little bit worse and FSU was worse. The other teams kinda the same. OOC SC was worse. It is my view that we have not advanced any since Dabo took over. Yes he won the ACC but we all know why...he had the luxury of all those other teams being worse when he did it. The defenses of TB...well do you really want to compare to them of the Defenses of Dabo? I doubt it so I will leave it alone on that. Those of you who bash TB in lew of Dabo simply have fallen for the smoke and mirrors that has been going on around here. Bowden all ways had us near the top of the ACC and he always beat the coots and in my book that is much better than any HOLLOW ACC championship and certainly way better than annual #### whippings by the coots of which there looks to be no end in sight. So when you are celebrating what we have right now and putting down Tommy think about what your saying. I am not all in and have not been all in since the third beating the chickens put on us. Call me a dumper all you want but it seems that the pumpers could care less about the coot game any more but it bugs the shat out of me and it should you too. There was no excuses losing to them this year. What will you pumpers say if we lose 5 in a row? Will it be ok then? Im giving Dabo one less chance in this thing and it must be in the bowl game. He must win that game to give me any hope for our future. All this board does is sit and talk about how the recruiting is coming along so well. Here is some news for you....we have always recruited well and will continue to do well...its been the coaching.

who didn't want to fire him until the last second.
I wanted to fire him after year 6 and I DO NOT bash him now. I think he is an OK coach and would fit in at several places. He is also a good guy. He did a lot for Clemson from a program building standpoint and getting us back on the map.

He played that bravo sierra game with the Arkansas coaching job a year or two before he got shyatt-canned at Clemson.
In the end Tommy Bowden was an utter failure at Clemson as a head coach. He's a good boy, but not a head coach at this level. As far as I'm concerned, he didn't earn a thin dime of $600 grand in buyout money we paid him... that was stolen money. As badly as his teams underachieved, he should have told Clemson to keep that money.

Dabos wins have all been against teams that most any good teams would beat. Even Tommy Bowden would have won that championship last year and you know it. Im not saying they should not have fired Bowden...the mistake they made was hiring Dabo. No way should we as a university take a risk with a guy like Dabo when we could have gotten a GOOD PROVEN head coach in like most schools do. Now we are stuck and records are being broken against us that havent been done in 100 years and that trend will continue from what I am seeing.

Tajh is competing against his own records now, Sammy and Nuke are competing against each other for records, if AE was healthy his whole career chances are he would be our all time leading rusher. We have been ranked in every poll since week 3 of LAST season. We just broke our record for a home game win streak. We are the only ACC team to beat a AP ranked team in 3 consective weeks (two of them being top 15). We were the only team to hold VT under 7 points at Blacksburg under while under Beamer.

We are running a fast break offense against weak defenses. Clemson use to be a school like Alabama that wore you down with runs and throw in a pass hear and there to keep em honest. We were physical and a scary team to play. So of course the records for most yards in a game and TD passes will be broken...it would be easy pickins. I will go as far as to say it would be downright pathetic if we weren't setting offensive records....but unless you beat good teams while doing it then its MEANINGLESS !!!

They stunk last year, and they stunk even worse this year. Rankings last until you play top competition and lose. If we take another 70 point beatdown in the bowl game this year, where do you think we'll be ranked??
Come on people, wake up and smell the coffee.

He is a master salesman but thats it. Morris on the other hand is head coach material. I simply cannot believe we hired this guy as our head coach and how he has snow balled the whole lot. Simply frustrating and meanwhile the coots laugh at us and WANT us to keep him. That should tell you all you need to know.

He has lost 4 in a row to the cooters and soon to be 5 it looks like. Thats something HORRENDOUS and unthinkable that he is about to achieve that dreaded milestone that no other clemson coach in the history of the rivalry has accomplished. Not even our worst coaches brought us that kind of shame. Years back he would have already been gone for 4 in a row...now we celebrate him. Unbelievable with how low we have sunk as a fan base. We truly are owned.

Bowden was great for Clemson. Just could not close the deal. He brought the West Endzone initiative to fruition which enhances recruiting exponintially.
As much as you hate Usoc, Nationally it is about championships. National standing, Dabo has put together 3 great recruiting classes, hired fine coordinators and turned that piece over to them, and won an ACCCC and tied for a division . Dabo cares, has field presence and offers spirit, maybe to his detremit at times.
Both are fine men and I wish both well.

Dabo is another Tommy Bowden, with one difference - Dabo hired Chad Morris. Aside from that, they are very similar. Why the he# else would a head coach sacrifice a portion of his salary to pay an assistant coach? Doesn't that alone tell you who is more valuable to Clemson?
Paying that money to Morris was the best investment Dabo will ever make. It almost surely bought home at least two more years of making over $2 million... and with all of the head coaching vacancies out there right now, it's MORRIS getting mentioned, not Dabo. Again... HELLO!!!!!

I am amazing how much the game has changed since Tommy left. During Dabo's tenure thus far the game has been so corrupted by money and the SEC has totally taken over. Dabo has let us to back to back 10 win seasons and an ACC Championship and would take him any day of the week over Coach Bowden. Both are great guys and have played significant parts in what Clemson football has become. I just hope the future allows this team to be successful moving forward. The landscape is going to dictate how it all turns out.

down some this year, but Dabo, you have to admit, has done much to invigorate the program from the inside. I also think Spurrier has finally improved the SC teams, which is why they have been more competitive, that, and the SEC East and bottom teams have been way down too in the past several years.

I bash Tommy Bowden still but I also bashed him then. Tommy Bowden was a joke of coach who blew Clemson's opportunity to return to dominance as FSU was fading.
We haven't had good coaching around here in a long time. Our coaches land some flashy recruits (but fail to build a complete team) and people think they are a Godsend. This is Clemson people, who wouldn't want to play football here?
