You’re spot on with that. Many forget who threw the pass to our own Dwight Clark. “The Catch”!

Tigers2021, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I know Lateek Townsend from Bennettsville as well.
Good kid that was homesick, in my opinion.
I ran into Lateek about a month ago outside of a store in Bennettsville and he still thinks highly of Clemson, as we actually talked about that some as well. Would have loved to see what he would have done on the field at Clemson a lot longer than he was actually there.
Now Syvelle Newton,, from Bennettsville, on the other hand,, thats a different story.

Nelson Welch of Greer HS (3A State Champions 1989) literally never came off the field. P,K,Wing back, DB, KR PR. Kid was the best total player I ever saw. Too valuable to Clemson as a kicker to see the field in college.

He was very talented but just couldn’t get cleared by the NCAA to play. I can’t remember when that has happened in recent years. Prop 48 had good intentions to bring qualified students back to the gridiron. Oh we

What makes you think that?

While I don't know what the policy is now, at one time the ACC had a hard and fast rule about the number of Prop 48 players a member school could accept. I believe that number was two and only one could be for football.
That said, I believe the standards have also been changed. Initially, students had to score at least an 800 on the SAT and pass, with a minimum GPA of 2.0, 16 core courses.
Today, I believe a sliding scale is used so if a student-athlete has a higher GPA in those core courses, the standardized test score can be lower. As the GPA increases, the required test score decreases, and vice versa.
