I hate that Clemson

doesnt have a womens softball team. My cousin is considering usuc because its close to home. She's Been offered by every major team in the south except for bama and shes considering friggin usuc. I'm hoping and praying she decides to go elsewhere.
If Clemson had a team it'd be a no brainer for her...
also, I know this isnt a football post but not exactly a place to complain about non clemson sports.

There is somebody out that there could possibly flip the entire bill to start the program up if they really wanted to. I wonder what the price tag would be to get it started? New field, coaching staff, equipment, scholarships, travel expenses for recruiting. Probably 6-8 million could get it started, haha.

after they won the championship in the first year. The south is pretty legit in softball!
Best place for the field is probably being Doug Kingsmore where they have the baseball camps. They could just use the existing parking for the baseball field

Tickets would probably be something like a Greenville Drive game. $8-$20. I'd go see a game! Clemson has good sponserships for their sports, so Nike and Easton could chip in on equipment. I hate that Baseball lost the Nike deal in baseball. What is it they have now, Russel?

Just a frop in the bucket. How close in general does softball come to generating revenue I wonder? Large crowds at games, but are the tickets cheap? I would assume so.

just seems to me with it being such a big deal down here we'd have it as well as golf. I know we've started a golf team so thats at least a step in the right direction.

I've wondered myself why we didn't have a team, with the hs athletes we have just in the upstate alone, we would be competitive! And you really believe CU couldn't find the funds to find a team! I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem!

UNC, Fla. State, and GT are pretty solid women's softball programs. The upstate has turned out several big time D1 pitchers in the last few years. In softball, one stud pitcher can carry you a long way. Overall, there's plenty of talent in the upstate. Hillcrest and Palmetto just won State Championships and Daniel played for it in AAA. I think the administration has really dropped the ball on not starting women's softball. Georgia is loaded with talent just like they are in football and baseball. If you recruited SC and GA you could field pretty competitive teams.

yeah it looks like she is down to between UGA and usuc. she loves UGA but loves the distance to usuc. she's a daddy's girl and doesnt want to go far. Clemson would've been perfect had we had a team.

Also plays fastpitch ....she has been on three un official visits to bama Arizona state and Fsu.....she still in 10 th grade so she has a couple more Years.....and if clemson had a team that's where she would wanna go.....its true there is tons of talent in the upstate.......

yeah shes in 10th grade also...just went on all 5 official visits the past 2 months...she and her parents are ready to have a decision made. she's really enjoyed auburn, tenn, florida, uga, and usuc. She wants to play in the SEC for a nat. champ. so others have backed off.
