How will the O-Line look next year?
Sep 22, 2014, 7:49 PM

Before I go on, this is just me speculating. I hated losing the game saturday seeing as we had so many opportunities to win, but I thought the O-Line played great (minus the bad snap). I saw the depth chart for the UNC game though and I didn't realize how many we would have leaving after the year this year (Beasley, Webster, Davis) plus the fact that these three are all interchanged amongst the the backup positions.
I want to win the ACC and national titles badly (obviosuly), but understand where we are right now and am looking forward to the rest of the year. However, with these key players gone next year who are we bringing in other than Hyatt and how will we hold up with a much more experienced and talented offense? Just looking for some info here as I am misinformed on this matter

I think you must mean the DL don't you? Beasley and others you mentioned are on nth DL not the OL. Hey, I get confused as well don't let it worry you, your heart is in the right place.

talent in Reeder, Watson, Rodgers etc. They are much easier to bring along than an OL. I am tired of hearing about the improvement of the OL, year after year, by our coaches.

Regarding our OL next year
Sep 22, 2014, 8:23 PM
|
|
We'll be bringing in the aforementioned Mitch Hyatt as well as ...
Noah Green 4 stars, 6-5 275 #16 OT, #199 overall
Jake Fruhmorgen 4 stars, 6-5 280 #7 OT, #86 overall
Zach Giella 4 stars, 6-6 285 #31 OT.
Plus, we've got some freshmen this year in Justin Falcinelli (6-5 300) and Taylor Hearn (6-3 300). Tyrone Crowder (6-2 320) is a RsFr who we are looking at to step up. Sure we'll graduate some folks. But you'll presumably have 4 current juniors still on our roster in Battle, Gore, MacLain, and Norton. And Guillermo would be a junior. So we'd have some guys back with experience and young bucks waiting in the wings.
The future is bright.

We have some excellent returning players, but I wouldn't

count on the incoming freshmen for a couple of years.
OL seems to be one area where it's difficult for a true freshman to contribute significantly.
But I gave you a point, so please don't send me another hateful tmale.

I think Jake fruhmorgen has a shot at right tackle, but that has more to do with what will be in front of him next year.
kid is a beast and is physically in a better position than Hyatt to contribute early.

Left to right Battle, Guillermo and Crowder should be fixtures on it. We are the only team in the nation I think that rotates linemen in between series. Hopefully these 5 star guys will come in and dominate

was mediocre at best. Also, we can't get a yard when we need it the most it seems.
