Gutsy effort by bball team tonight

Tough matchup. We just couldn't get that 1 score to put us over the top. Down double digits in both halves and closed it down twice. Played til the end. Legs really showed up on fts and layups/putbacks. If we make those, it's a 10 pt game our way. Sat behind bench and BB did all he could to keep the guys going. I have never seen Hall looked so tired and beat up. That was a very physical game. FSU contested every pass. It was a grind and we just didn't get it done. Wish we could have popped DG on that last set- I think the frosh woulda sent the crowd home happy!

It helps if you don't go 50% from the free throw line.

Bet you couldn't go 50% immediately following the most intense workout of your life. Big difference when running is involved. Most of them hit front iron, which is a direct indictment on the legs. We were tired.

While I agree that it was a gutsy effort, it is on Brownell to develop some sort of backup PG for Hall. He played 40 minutes Saturday in a game we led by double digits for practically the entire game. He played 37 last night.
DeVoe and perhaps Roper need some PG minutes to spell him, even if it costs us a little bit. If Hall was a superstar, I would say otherwise, but he is not.
At some point, we need to think about developing DeVoe if he is going to help us next year.
