What positions do the Jags need to target in the draft ?

I have been cheering them on, but I have not followed closely enough to have an informed opinion on this.

The biggest need is a slot corner.

They were one of the worst in the league at defending slot WRs and TEs.

After that, I've seen a lot of talk about interior OL and TE.

Someone that can defend Kielce. Huge need on Saturday.

Jacksonville and the rest of the NFL share that need though.

I think they can improve on what they have on defense, but for sure they need O-Line help that can allow Trevor to step up in the pocket bc, with Trevor's height, if he can step in the pocket he can see every receiver on the field, and he won't have to scramble so much trying to find an open receiver, and stepping up in the pocket will allow him to cut back on some of those Ints he throws bc he needs to get rid of the ball and he tries to force a positive play. My vote is better O lineman to give TL16 time to make good decisions!!!

Sounds like Clemson! Get the OL really a strength, and we’ll all see much better team play. I believe it’ll really positively help our D too.

They need help at DB and on the OL.***

OL should be an area of major attention.

Corner/Nickel back, and definitely OL. Trevor under too much pressure. I'd also like one more WR, but a true outside guy, 6'4" 215 prototype, All their receivers right now other than the TE are more slot body type wise.

Maybe they will get Ngata?

Secondary... they needed that D to make a stop or two in

Jan 23, 2023, 10:48 AM

that game. That or trade pick for experienced OL addition.

Am I the only one that thought the Jags D done pretty well their last few games?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, they won the last several games and weren't the reason

the Jags lost on Saturday...The Offense sputtered down the stretch

They could fill some holes via Free Agency so that plus the draft. Most mocks have them going after a WR in the 1st round. After that OL and most of the defense.

Big-time pass rusher on D, stud pass blocker on O.***

Somebody that can block so Trevor is not constantly being hit or running for his life.

Exactly what you said!!!

In order

Jan 23, 2023, 1:59 PM

Overall, in order I think the needs are:

Corner
Safety
WR (outside)
Def End
D Tackle
Guard
Center

O line could use some help, but they ranked in the top 5 in sacks given up. So it's not as bad as one might think. They do need to generate some explosive plays. With that said....

Offense
- Need a big body outside receiver like Tee Higgins or Mike Williams or (Nuk?). Christian Kirk plays more inside so the isn't a big need for a Slot unless they can get a back up that's super productive.
- Upgrade at TE.

Defense needs to upgrade pass rush more than anything.

Defense
- Corner
- Safety.
- D Tackle and D End

They have the 24th pick, I expect them to go with a corner or safety with their first pick.

Cisco and Jenkins were pretty solid, they need help on

1

the interior of both lines before they should upgrade from either S

A lock down corner and a Safety/FS that can cover a TE. Another D lineman that can rush the passer would also help.

Calvin Ridley will be back on the squad at WR after sitting a full year suspension for gambling. Need to focus on OL and defense. Plenty of weapons with a healthy Etienne, resign Engram at TE. DBs or OLs imo
