Maybe I should have paid $200 for an oil change

Oil changed on the 25th of April.

2 days later I notice a large pool of oil on the floor.

I take it back to the shop the next week and say, "yo, you sold me an oil leak". They "fix it".

Well, last week, I see fresh oil on the floor again. Not as much, but still slippery.

So I went by Monday, too crowded. I went back yesterday and says "I think I still have a leak around the plug". The worker girl dude is like, "it's a plastic plug, it's supposed to leak". I'm like what.

So the manager gets involved. He goes under the truck and says "It's residual oil, it's not coming from the plug, not leaking".

Ok, but I wiped oil off the plug yesterday. "Yeah, must have dripped down from above, I'll clean it up real good, you are fine".

So this morning....I climb under and see a droplet hanging from the plug. I wipe it off with a paper towel and lick it to make sure it's oil. Tests positive.

At lunch, I climb under the truck again. There is a droplet handing from the plug. I wipe it off with a paper towel and lick it to make sure it's oil. Tests positive AGAIN!.

RRRAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

The manager is missing at least 4 teeth. Confidence not very high. What do? Take it back tomorrow?

TLDR: Got oil changed in truck, oil leaks, took back, still leaks, took back, they say no leak, but it do be like that.

Good luck convincing them that they weren't the ones that cross threaded the plug.

Same. Let me know next time you head up to Stateline Alfa Romeo. I’ll take my Maserati up on the same day and we can get hammered at Applebees while we wait.

I'm really preaching to myself. I'm about to have to call our lawn service and ask them to come aerate the yard again. Maybe the third times the charm and they'll actually do it this time.

Leaking down the back of the engine is a rear main seal. Looking at about $600 minimum

I was thinking maybe the pan wasn't plastic with a 5.0, but maybe it is

Plastic pan has to go with a plastic plug?

So the article says not much findings with the 5.0 and they didn't add it to their chart.

My issue is there was no leak before the oil change (I know bc garaged). After the oil change, there is a leak. And the manager told me it was not leaking from the plug, butt obviously it is.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

From your pic it looks like plastic on plastic.

You might need to #### with it or maybe get your paws on a fresh OEM drain plug.

I'd skim some owner forums for ya but the edible just kicked in and I think I'm going to have to listen to music soon.

Camper van needed a power steering part that is not being built at all and not sure when it will be built again, 4 separate auto shops said they couldn't work on it for various reasons and any Dodge/Ram dealership won't touch it since there's no part available

Buddy's like, sure we can probably fix it, and they did

There's like a million Ram vans on the road, it is insane to me that Mopar doesn't have somebody building this part

Will be boondocking again real soon!
