12 total carries for Florida this season. Ha has not carried the ball since October 9, vs Vanderbilt. He has:
4 carries vs Florida Atlantic 3 Carries vs South Florida 5 carries vs Vanderbilt
I wonder where he'd be in the rotation of Pace, Shipley and Mafah.

Smart-guy 91TigerS16,
Your hero D.Bowman can't sniff special teams, where as your loathed Brothers Swinney have useful skills (holding / catching punts) that your boyfriend D.Bowman can't be trusted to do.
Go back to watching "The View" for your football education.

Maybe with his speed they would pitch a few rins outside?? Seriously I think Pace bounced one outside and Mafah bounced one outside and both dudes got big gains.
I wonder if CJ is pumping his players to run up the middle since he knows that was his biggest downfall?? CJ made a living by getting outside but everyone said he couldn't run up the middle, is our current running philosophy a direct influence from CJ knowing he needed to do better there? I have been amazed as to why our guys never bounce outside anymore? ETN may slice thru an opening, break a tackle but his long runs almost always were bounced to the sideline after his first cut thru the line. It just seems odd that our RBs have abandoned the bounce this year. Yes, we get the 5-6yds but we are not getting the busts. I think Pace had one for 69 (bounced outside), Mafah had 50yd and pretty much mid-field, and Ship had 28yd run up the middle. Lyn J had a couple 20yd runs and both those were bounced but he hasn't been coached long by CJ.
I'm not a coach and I don't know what CJ coaches, but it sure seems to be a different philosophy in running scheme this year.

Running the ball outside requires good down field blocking by your receivers.

Haha! I bet you guessed about the same, it isn't really too hard nowadays.
That said Mr Striperfan, do you actually fish for striper or is that a reference to something else. I caught a 28.5" striper on Moultrie a few days ago, it was probably 15-16lb range just guessing, it was a fatty on a jerkbait. Had several 21-24" but I never hear you talk about fishing to much so I wondered if your username actually referenced fishing? Spud happily talks about his great days of retired fishing. I just like to talk to persons with the same passion. I fish for pleasure and tournaments.

I wanted to see if it was as predictable as I thought it was, plus there are many posters that crow about our playcalling being too predictable. I tend to agree while you may not, but I feel like our playbook is a little stagnant.
Anyway, what body of water do you fish? I fish all over the state but Santee is my home waters.

Our playbook is limited due to personnel

We have a QB who has struggled with reads and throws. An OL that has started 3 different LG, 3 different C and 3 different RG. A WR Corp once again down 4 scholarship players with Ngata out.
Good news is DJ has incrementally improved. OL should be healthier this week and guys are getting valuable experience. WR are catching the ball and getting open. Collins in the slot was superb yesterday. RB are talented and learning.
That will enable more of the playbook. I'm just not sure why so many of you expect us to open the playbook wide open when we've struggled to execute even the basics

The TE's and WR's dropping the ball has been horrible all year. Seem like Davis has finally stepped up to be reliable, and it appears the coaches are gaining faith in Bringingstool. I am still shocked as to why Lay can't crack the line-up, as big as he is he still doesn't play when blocking is crucial.
You can run the same 12 plays but make them look different. There is almost zero originality in the playcalling. DJ has definitely looked better week over week for the last 3 wks. But after seeing his abilities last year, then seeing a giant regression this year, nobody was expecting our QB play to be a handicap especially when he was listed as a Heisman candidate. So fans that get upset with other fans that had giant expectations just dont make sense to me. Yes, it is what it is at this point and we are getting better weekly, but the excuses that Dabo and TE gave at the beginning of the season was unacceptable from a seasoned group. You cant tell people that your poor offensive performance was because a team changed their defensive scheme. Any fan has the right to complain after those excuses.
Dabo is my coach. I want him to retire at Clemson and I expect he will do what needs to be done as far as staff and players. But he has taken the Nepotism a little too far at the risk of loosing 3-4* players, if you ask me. There is no reason our roster isn't full of 4-5* players, should never have 6-7 walk-on schollies in one class that is a critical class of upper classmen.
That won't be a problem after this year and I hope Dabo takes more recruits than what we expected to fill the holes. And we know we will have transfers as we always do.
Tight lines! Enjoy your next day on the water Mr Striperfan?

Expectations are great

but reality is what matters. QB not near as good as expected. That's reality, expectations mean nothing. OL a walking wounded unit. Pitt has started the same 5 guys all year. We've started 7 different combinations in 9 games due to attrition. Pretty sure that wasn't the expectation, it is the reality. WR banged up all year and underperformed much of it. Not the expectation, but the reality.
The reality is all we can implement is a base offense when you have no idea who is playing week to week. Maybe we get some continuity here towards the end. It would help both the players and the coaches
