Changes in CFB

I have been absolutely despising the changes, and the claimed “reasons behind” the changes that have happened over the past few years. Having said that, if college football is indeed becoming NFL minor league… I wouldn’t be too upset about going to 2 major conferences with regional divisions set up for regular season play. I wouldn’t even be opposed to a Wild card round in the 1st round of playoffs.

I’m trying to look on the bright side of things here, and no matter what happens with the current conference realignments…. it won’t last long before it goes to the minor league NFL model. They’ve already all but said that 100% of scholarship football players don’t care about a degree with the acceptance of NIL. If they truly don’t care one way or the other about the value of a Bachelors degree, then go ahead and let them get used to the length of an NFL season.

Thoughts?

College football is much older than pro football and has a much greater history spread all over the country but it's over, no it wont end next year or even 5, maybe , but its over.

All of this maneuvering will end up being a pipe dream, it won't matter in the end, do you really think ESPN will pay missouri 100 million a year simply to be in a certain conference for 10-15 years. I wouldn't put money on this country existing in an orderly fashion in 10 years much less college football

I think it's going to be a tough sell. Die-hard college football fans love the game because of the pageantry, rivalries, regional games, and the boys are playing for our alma mater mentality. Once it becomes Professional, and it will (most of the way there), we lose most of these things.

Hasn't D1 football always been a minor league for the NFL? What's different now is NIL.
