When we look back at this season…

I think a lot of us are going to realize what a golden opportunity we had but could not take advantage of. Bama and Ohio State clearly down, UGA looking VERY beatable at times throughout the season. If we just had a team comparable to what we had in 2019, or just CLOSE to that. We would be ranked either #1 or #2 right now and headed for another national championship game. The fact that we’re nowhere NEAR that now cannot be denied.
I hope Dabo does what is necessary to get Clemson’s football program back to that level soon. Every languishing season of downward trajectory makes that less and less likely. Must right that ship NOW.

That's from lack of leadership/coaching.

Turnovers in the ND game too. Blocked kick at the beginning , Cade’s INT when he was thrown in the fire, and DJ’s pick 6. That’s 21 points right there and one could argue a 28 point swing bc we were about to score when DJ threw the pick 6. Crazy to think three plays put the game that far out of reach, but it speaks to the power of turnovers.

Drew Swinney being on the field on the last series. Given 2021 and 11 games into 2022 DJ had no business attempting 29 passes especially when we led most of the game. Giving up on a running game averaging 8.8 from Shipley and 6.0 from Mafah. Throwing a 50/50 jump ball to a 6'1" receiver that has barely played on 3rd and 3! But nah we just dropped a few passes to lose the game.
Anyhow, I've been stewing over that game for 6 days. Moving on in hopes we beat one of my other most hated teams tomorrow night.

Dabo's been relying on the defense to give the offense

leeway. Losing so many defensive starters next year we could see a big downturn - maybe 4+ losses. Hope we don't keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting...

Other than the two big chunk pass plays...

and the 4th down play, the defense pretty much did its job. The defense got a pick 6 and intercepted a pass in the end zone for touchback. The QB play, the WR play, and the play calling...not so much !!!

I meant to say we need to stop doing the same thing over and over again with the offense.

I honestly think...

the limitations of the QB and WR's lessens or narrows what we're able to do offensively.

There was a lot riding on the outcome of last weeks game and the team just didn't show-up and continued to be plagued by turnovers.

But don’t you think that…

last week’s game and the results thereof are fairly indicative of this program and the downward trajectory? If we somehow had managed to get into field goal range and Potter was able to make one from downtown Central to win the game, does that make us a legit CFP team in your eyes? I might expect one of the typical circlejurk posters here to believe that; the preponderance of evidence gathered over the course of the season does not allow me to believe it. As down as those other programs are right now, I can’t see us beating ANY of them this year. USC smacked Notre Dame in the mouth.

I'm not suggesting that Clemson is a legitimate playoff team

so when I said "there was a lot riding on the outcome of last weeks game", I wasn't necessarily referring to the CFP.

If you are a realistic Tiger fan you would realize that this team probably has over achieved this year beating some teams it probably shouldn't have ala FSU, WF and NC State. I will take those wins and run...we were never a playoff team, good , but not great. Hopefully, we can win the conference tomorrownight. We are just offensively challenged at WR and QB right now ...it's just that simple.

Yep, and I will always wonder why Cade never got any opportunities to develop, or show whether he could run the offense with the first team without being thrown into already hopeless situations.
