Re: All you need is the zest of 10 oranges,

a handle of brandy and a lot of patience. Remove the zest from 10 oranges, being careful not to get any pith. I use a vegetable peeler and scrape off any pith with a paring knife. Your TNet steak knives will serve admirably. Place the orange zest into a gallon glass jar. Pour the brandy over it and cover with a lid.
Place in a cool, dark place and shake a couple times a week. Let it steep for four weeks. After four weeks, strain the liquor through a fine mesh strainer. Add simple syrup to taste. The recipe I used called for 2 cups sugar to one cup water.
Filter with a paper coffee filter and there you go. Homemade Grand Marnier. 1.75 liters for about $30.

12 year Knob Creek single barrel 120 proof neat. I’m thinking either a 2014 Russell’s Reserve single barrel or Booker’s Backyard BBQ next.

I have several in the cabinet but learned long ago to leave it there. Maybe a little once in awhile and some wine. Probably 50 bottles of wine in reserve. Will have some champagne tonight as have guests coming in for dessert.

If I’m drinking neat or on the rocks: Weller or Elijah Craig. Especially with a good cigar. If I’m drinking an everyday drink, on the lake or tailgating; then it’s Wild Turkey Honey and Coke.

Buffalo Trace or 1792, especially for the price point vs taste. Kicked my Maker's habit back when they were going to water it down. Also, even though it's not a bourbon, Tin Cup is a nice mid-range whiskey with a rye kick.
