Being relatively new here

Jul 8, 2017, 11:53 PM

I've said this here before, but I only joined TNET a few weeks ago. Maybe a month or so now? Can't remember exactly. Read the articles for years, but never even knew these boreds existed until I stumbled upon them one fateful afternoon. Anyway.. just wanted to say that I am looking forward to the season even more now just to see what goes on in here during actual football. I find it pretty entertaining posting and reading now during the 'dead period' of the year, it's got to be 1000x better following a Clemson win or Shamecock loss.

One word of advice, don't get on TNET during a close game. People ##### and moan about every single play that doesn't go our way.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

I just joined as well but I've read the boards for nearly 10 years. This is sound advice. 2010 was a train wreck on here with a lot of these guys calling eachother coots over a little bit of nothing. People get kinda edgy during times when things don't go our way.

Thanks Spud. I was beginning to feel a little left out when it came to this matter :)

And especially during a game that we are not up by 30 points. In fact, I recommend stying off of Tnet on game day by going to DV instead :)

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Really.

Just be prepared to sift through a bunch of junk to find the quality conversations and thought provoking discussions. Lots of trolls show up during the season.

Mr Greenbeans has some really good posts. His ability to gain points so quickly does not surprise me. I'm sure he has a life. Cell phones make it easy to pop in and out of t-net throughout the day without interfering with daily activities:)

half the appeal is just seeing that great picture of BV as his icon. *

It's okay snoddy I do spend entirely too much time in here. I don't have a single co-worker who could name more than probably 5 starters on Clemson's team this year so you guys help
me get my Clemson Football conversation fix throughout the days

No disrespect intended. My sarcasm lends itself to envy. It is nice to have some folks to discuss the Tigers with that have knowledge! Happy posting!

Jul 9, 2017, 8:42 AM

avoid reading posts for a couple of days after a loss. And don't post an optimistic opinion after we lose a game or you will get blasted really well. The "glass half-fullers" (not Steve) only see the bleak side of things as if we should be undefeated every year. That's really strange because most would tell you before the season that they would gladly take an 11-1 year, but just can't take it when that one loss comes along. But we get through and the wounds heal after we get back on track.

If, for whatever reason, you are unable to watch a game

Jul 9, 2017, 9:22 AM

either in-person or on television, I highly advise you to ask a friend or family member to hide any ammunition you may have before you peruse the tidbits of knowledge all of us T-Net coaches have to offer during a game. If you listen to this group of experts during any close game (T-Net Coach Close: Tigers up by less than 31 with more than 2:30 remaining in the 4th) you will be ready to abandon all hope for the future and end it all.
Last season I put my phone away if I was able to actually watch the game and had much more "less-tense" experience.

And... I've been a member since '09 and have less than 1/3 of your point total, so whatever wisdom and humor you've been imparting has obviously been well-received.
plus... JimmyGeenbeans... that's GOLD, Jerry - gold, and would've been meaningless had you joined sooner than a year or so ago.

The message board blows but you can't beat the insider info that David and Nikki provide...

During the season, you will see a new post or thread after every snap or play...You will see the Game Day Thread for the game but as narcissistic as people are, they have to create a new one...You will have to surf through miles of useless trash posts to find one worth engaging on...and if you aren't familiar with the ins and outs of recruiting you better....If a player doesn't commit to Clemson its because he has off the field issues and we really just didn't want him...

Welcome and enjoy to be annoyed

Agree on the game thread thing. Having to make a post for a 2 yard draw play, or a basic tackle is a bit much.

I didn't realize you were knew Jimmy. I read your posts and really appreciate the research you do on recruiting.

During the season it gets passionate in here. You'll have fun. TU

My only advice - Beware the RAG. I've heard how they lure you into their world. You have been warned. There's a list, but we cannot post lists on t-net, so you're on your own. Good luck and godspeed.
