It's officially down-time...

Landblast all you want to, but most of what you all are reading into about conf expansion isn't going to happen.
The ACC controls the entire East Coast, which honestly isn't all that bad. We have a TON of market in our own back yard within the ACC. Probably the largest market in the nation, if we get hot, we'll see it. We're just not hot right now. Yes, as a conference we've been very down the last 5-7 years (I'm also very unhappy with Swofford). It happens people. The tides will change with time as they always do (See bama pre saban, see southern cal, see penn state, see fsu now). Just because we're not the best conference in the nation right now, doesn't mean we all need to jump ship. We can still re-negotiate contracts, etc in time.
The ACC is on pretty solid ground and as long as we don't get too spooked and jump ship, I feel good things will come. FSU, Clemson, Miami, VT, GT are great schools that simply will not get left out if re-alignment does happen. If things happen, they happen, and rest assured we'll be first on the totem pole to get picked or asked.
You all want to go to the Big12, a place where Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, and Texas A&M just left? A conference that 6 months ago was about to fall? A conf ruled by Texas? Is 2.9 million really going to make that big of a difference? Not at all...
Calm down folks! Clemson will compete no matter what.

We control the east cost, except for 1/3 of Florida, most of Georgia, 1/2 of South Carolina, and the portion of the east coast north of Maryland that could care less about college football.

I beg to differ...

The other half of South Carolina is checking the score to our games and keeping up, just as we do. The same goes for UGA/GT and UF/FSU. I'm not sure what those Miami fans do...
Pitt, Boston College, and Syracuse also have a decent New England following.
If the ACC heats up, it could be huge, we're just not there yet. Trust that half of the Boston, Miami, NY, ATL, TV markets will bring in more viewers than anywhere in AL, MS, LA, or AR or anywhere else within the SEC for that matter.

I don't think you're getting half of Boston, ATL, or NY. They're all pro sports towns.

Agreed... but let BC, GT, or SY win 10+ in a year

You'd have a lot more people tuning in to watch, if they ever get hot. It could happen is all I'm saying.
The potential is there.

well...maybe Swoffie can bribe the referees to win some games for some of the losers in the conf.
Esp if the are 5-6 at the end of the year.

I think Clemson in a 5 win season is getting more viewers than Syracuse or BC in a 5 win season.
I think the same thing also happens if both are at 10 wins. The college football landscape is becoming more national and less regional.

One of the few conf that will have 14 Teams

Prestigous universities, the best academics, pretty good geography for all 14. Yes, the TV Contract money is down, but there's a 5 year look-in window and room for re-negotiation.
Call me optimistic, but it's can't get much worse then the last 3-4 years, we've hit rock bottom, we can only move in a posistive direction as a conf if we stay together.
At the same time, if we jump ship to the Big 12, I'm not going to complain either. I'm just not getting all tied up into what's playing out in the media on a daily basis. Take it for it's worth and watch it play out.
