2023 Predictions

I think we’ll go 10-2 with losses to…and I hate doing this…Florida State and South Carolina. FSU just a significantly better offense at this point, and can really bring pressure and defend the pass. Just don’t think Riley and Cade will be there yet. The South Carolina one is part a gut feeling and it being a tough environment. Gamecocks will be finishing strong and can throw the ball, which I’m worried about is defending, and it feels like a game they make a bunch of dumb plays in and win. BUT I say we get revenge in the ACC CG and take down FSU to finish 11-2

The worst QB performance is Clemson history led us to a 1 point loss against SC. Defense will be improved. No shot we lose to SC again. I realistically could see 11-1 and then 12-1 ACCCG. Biggest question mark for me is receivers. Cade can sling it. We’ve seen that. Can the WR’s make the plays now.

The S.Carolina one to me is a combo of it being on the road, probably at night, us having the pressure with a playoff spot in view, their ability to throw the ball with Rattler, and their special teams. On a neutral field tomorrow I feel like we are winning. Just don’t see 11-1 with the uncertainty of offense. Would love to be wrong, though

So we’re going to lose to a team with their worst O-line since the 0-11 season, zero quality DE’s, average DT’s, zero quality LB’s, 2 starting CB’s gone, no RB’s, and one proven WR? Got it

A playoff spot in their view would keep their foot on the gas. Last year, in hindsight, Clemson missed out on the playoff because of the loss. We won't make that mistake again. We're more likely to beat them by 50 than to lose this year.
I don't see any particular loss for 2023. If we play poorly against ND or Florida St, then we could lose. If we play really poorly against a couple of other teams then we could potentially lose. I've heard Duke thrown out there, but we are simply too superior to them physically for that to be a concern for me.
My guess would be 11-1 with a bad game out there somewhere. If I had to pick a particular game then I would say ND is the team that concerns me the most. I think that it will come down to winning the ACCCG for a spot in the playoffs.

We will go 12-0 this year. Lamecocks are lucky to make 6-6.

We win both of those games. Our D dominates both FSU and USCjr. Our O will be better, not great, but good. If we lose a game it will be one that surprises us.

I’ve been to Miami and New Orleans for Clemson games, along with countless home games and ACC championships. You’d be hard pressed to find a bigger Clemson fan. Except I’m also a fan of college football, too, and don’t live in the bubble of “we’re going 12-0 every year!”

do you not realize that if Clemson beats SC last year, we go CFP
did you not see CK2 in the ACCCG or Orange Bowl (Cade had 320yards v Tenn just didn't score because Offensive play calling is garbage near the red zone)
i know you're wrong

Been to numerous Orange Bowls, playoff games, and ACC titles (and home games of course). You’d be hard pressed to find a bigger Clemson fan. Yeah I’ve watched every snap of every game. I’m also not blind by bias. Here’s what I know: our offense could be great, elite even, if Riley and Cade deliver. I know the unit will be better, but, I don’t know how much until I see it. I know that our D is pretty strong, even if the secondary has some work to do. FSU moved the ball on us last year without problem and got bogged down in the RedZone. With their returning talent plus more, I see no reason why they can’t do it again. And I think we can score, too, but enough to keep pace? I’m just not convinced yet. Hopefully the Duke game totally changes my mind!

Don't use Duke as a benchmark. We don't find out what our offense can do until Florida St. Duke can use smoke and mirrors against most teams to look good, but we are too physically superior to them for them to compete. We'll run all over Duke.
If we don't, then it will be a bad season, and we'll be happy to end it 10-2.

Agreed that a slip up feels like it’s coming … and Duke is the game I select for that.
I see a 12-1 Tiger team in the 4-team playoff.

I don't think 11-2 is a bad prediction but I do not believe one of those losses will be to the Coots.
