You give Watson time and we are going to score A LOT!

They're tied for 106th in sacks and 78th in opponents qbr. I know I will have DW in fanduel this weekend.

With as inconsistent as our OL has played this year, they (Tech's defense) might actually end the day with good numbers if our guys don't come to play with an attitude.

I believe that this game hinges on whether or not our offense can get back into the groove that we had mid-seasons, under Watson, before his injury. If he is rusty and our offense sputters and/or turns the ball over, then I'm afraid that we'll be in for a long day in Atlanta because we're going to have to score some points to beat Tech. I'm hopeful that having Deshaun back there running the plays will change the trajectory of this offense, but it's hard to believe that as much as we have struggled the last four games that things would immediately be allright.

I've seen (we've all seen) good/solid Clemson teams go into Atlanta and fumble the game away and trip all over ourselves giving a less talented Tech team a victory. My first experience with that happening was in 1984 when a Clemson team that had just lost to UGA on Kevin Butler's impossibly long FG the week before. Clemson desperately needed a win to "right the ship" and looked like complete garbage on Grant Field. That game kind of set the tone for how I feel about games in Atlanta at Tech. I was also fortunate enough to be there in 1995 when we beat them 24 - 3 when Will Young, my cousin, was starting for the OL. So, I have also seen at least one good game for us there.

Go Tigers!

Actually those numbers don't quite reflect the current GT team. It's true, their defensive line is AWFUL at rushing the passer. The only one who can rush at all is true freshman KeShun Freeman, but he's undersized and inexperienced.

However, up until about 3 weeks ago Ted Roof had been using a bend-but-don't-break style of defense, only it was repeatedly breaking and Paul Johnson wss getting pissed. He told Roof to turn up the heat, and GT has been blitzing pretty heavily ever since. They haven't necessarily racked up a bunch of sacks, but they've forced a ton of turnovers and pressured QB's into some bad throws that they weren't making when GT was playing soft.

Make no mistake - Georgia Tech will come after Watson hard, if the recent games have been any indication. However, that means there will be some open receivers and guys 1-on-1 downfield if he can hit them. We'll see how things turn out.

OL needs work but they generally do better in pass protection than running the ball.
