Proud

Oct 22, 2013, 9:40 PM

I listened to the interviews with our players. They are hurt by the lost. I can imagine the weight of expectation must be great for them. I'm very proud of their willingness to try harder, to do better and take ownership in their mistakes. Anyone one of them would make a father proud. How important a lesson is it to get back up after being knocked down? Especially when those not in the arena find reason to remind them of their failures. Win or lose these are our young men. These are the Sons of Clemson and I for one am proud.

What you said, "Win or lose, these are our young men." The reason why I made my 3 kids stay until the last second Sat. night. We don't ONLY stay/support them when they are winning...if we are true fans.

I for one did not listen to the interviews.
What did you expect them to say? "We got the (s)h(i)t beat out of us".
The problem is not the loss,or that they are hurt.
The problem with this loss is that it was one of those embarrassing losses there are no words for.
But I don't blame the kids.
This one is on the coaching staff.
You can talk till your blue in the face about their willingness to try harder( Howards 110% rubbing the rock speech) and to do better, but this game was lost before these young men got on the bus.
Tell that to these young men.
I guess what I am trying to say here is there is no lesson to be learned other than how not to get embarrassed in a loss.A loss is a loss, but when you are embarrasseed, when you are totally dominated on both sides of the ball for 60 minutes, there is absolutely nothing to be learned from it.There is nothing you can correct.
This is not the first embarrassing loss(does the Orange Bowl loss two years ago come to mind,or Tommy Bowdens loss to Bams in the '09 Kick-off Classic). That one basically cost him his job, remember?
Every team suffers losses.None of them are good, but regardless,as individuals,or as a team you had better pick yourself up and get ready to do it again.
Otherwise there's no need to play.

Some great points with which I agree. It is very clear to me that the coaching in the FSU game and the pregame prep was totally absent. Clueless.
