Petrino wants to add Randy Shannon

The recruiting boost Shannon would bring is a bigger threat than Petrino's coaching abilities, imo:

"Sources close to Petrino say one tidbit he pitched in his talks with U of L was bringing Randy Shannon, former Miami head coach, to U of L as an assistant coach. Shannon recruited many of the current U of L Florida natives in high school (and got commitments from Teddy Bridgewater, Eli Rogers and others) before leaving Miami in 2010 with an NCAA investigation on the way."
