But, Clemson is proving you can still recruit and win in this conference! The overall football may be down as of right now, but from a names standpoint this conference is as strong as any in the country, and yes, that means something. Kids still want to play against Florida St., Miami, Virginia Tech, Louisville, even UNC and the addition of Notre Dame makes it that much stronger.

than play AGAINST the ACC.
Clemson puts in the effort to line up quality OOC opponents and get to good bowl games (sometimes better bowl games than we deserve because of our travelling fanbase). We do a great job of differentiating ourselves from the rest of the conference and showing a commitment to football.

If we were the same Clemson, playing in the SoCon we wouldn't get these same caliber of players. Who you play against does matter! And as far as the Syracuse/Pitt remark, yes both of these schools are perceived as weak adds in football, but truth is, they both have a very strong football tradition. Only time will tell if they can get back to there.

The problem is that the rest of the ACC isn't doing it...kids that commit to Clemson want to play for Clemson or the coaching staff. They do not commit because they want to play against FSU, UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, or any other ACC opponent. This is a big year for the ACC...particularly Clemson carrying the ACC on it's back trying to re-establish an image for the ACC against SEC heavyweights UGA and SC.

Yeah I would have to say Clemson and FSU recruit top notch in the ACC, no one really compares to them recruiting wise
