Budgets of Top 25 teams NOT in the Sweet Sixteen

AP Top 25 Teams NOT in Sweet 16:
7 Auburn $10.5 Million
12 Kentucky $20.2 Million
14 Baylor $9.86 Million
15 Saint Mary's $4.4 Million
16 Gamecoots $8.56 Million
17 Kansas $12.54 Million
20 Utah State $4.25 Million
21 BYU $7.44 Million
22 Texas Tech $12.34 Million
23 Wisconsin $8.55 Million
25 Washington State $5.48 Million

Per the same list, we spend $8.23 Million on our basketball budget. So, while we may be on the lower end of the teams that MADE the Sweet Sixteen, there are obviously ranked teams that DIDN'T make it that spend a whole lot more than we do. Seven of Eleven of the ranked teams on this list that missed, in fact, spend more on basketball than we do. Budget is not the determining factor, despite what some want to spin.

Bill Self's average year comes to about $10m per, so not sure how

accurate this is.

Kansas coach Bill Self has signed an amended five-year contract -- set up to be effectively a lifetime deal -- that makes him the highest-paid coach in college basketball.

Self, 60, will make more than $13 million in compensation for the 2023-24 season and $53 million over the next five years.
