Quick little thought experiment (for no particular reason). Curious to see if there’s any sort of consensus.
Rank the following QBs in order from best-to-worst:
Cullen Harper
Cole Stoudt
Kelly Bryant
Cade Klubnik

KB would’ve had us in playoffs the last three years. Russel Bowl Stoudt was elite. Was making Lawrence type throws. Wish he could’ve replicated that all season.

Agree on click bait, but I'll take Cade #1. Work to do, but improving in first year of playing time despite lack of coaching and coaching changes.

Those are 4 of the last starting QBs outside of the Watson & Lawrence - the consensus 2 best QBs in program history

We sat near Cole's dad that year at the bowl game and he said before it started that Cole would play better because the qb coach would be in his ear all night. Morris never had time for the QB during the game and with him leaving and the new oc not being the qb coach would make a big difference and he was right.

Klubnik needs a QB coach that can develop him. He is a gamer. And has that fire and moxie. I feel like other posters on here, that even Watson and Lawrence regressed over their career, which to me is the coaching end of it

Harper and Bryant are close....then there is a gap.....then Stoudt and Klubnik are close. Klubnik is just very young at the college level.

All four are/were a notch below the truly greats like DW, TL, and even CW and

WD. All if those had bad games, but they still had that special quality which made fans and teammates alike believe they could rise to the occasion. The four in question are all similar in that they all showed flashes, but never instilled that kind of confidence. The good news is that Cade is clearly not there, he still has a chance to get there.

Based on what they've done through a single given season,
Kelly Bryant
Cade Klubnik
Cullen Harper
Cole Stoudt
Since I wasn't watching Clemson football regularly in 2007 and 2008, my father did. He didn't think Cullen Harper was that great.
I watched Cole Stoudt in 2014, and he was pretty poor. He was often called 3 & Stoudt for reason. Anyone who saw DJ back in 2021, that's what Cole's play in the 2014 regular season was more like.
Kelly Bryant was number 1 on this list because he led us to a playoff appearance. However, I think Cade Klubnik has more upside since the 2023 season was only his sophomore year. He will likely experience significant improvements in his junior year as well as his senior year.

2. Kelly Bryant and Cade are tied. Kelly had better a better team around him to make him look. Cade has the potential to go up on this list if he gets people better around him. Right now he’s scratching and clawing for his life just to be able to to throw.

I intentionally put a gap between No. 1 and Nos 2-4. Kelly Bryant had Natty winning talent all around him, the other three have nothing close to that, at least not yet.
