I know, everyone is ready to figure out what coach is headed to Clemson. And while I've been told that this is pretty much done, head coach Dabo Swinney and crew are out on the recruiting trail today. I don't expect to hear anything official today or this weekend - maybe early next week.
Here is something to look for - the Board of Trustees Compensation Committee has to meet to approve the hire and salary, and we will be given 24 hours notice before that happens. When we learn that is on the docket........you get it.
As far as personnel, I know a lot of folks have thrown the name Antonio Williams out there as a potential transfer. I haven't heard that, and actually spoke with a member of his family late night who said that Antonio is focused on his recovery and playing in the bowl game. They said there are no feelers out there from him.
I will keep the phones hot and let you know when I hear something of substance.
One final thing, someone at Clemson (not on staff, not with football) mentioned that instead of hiring a DE coach, Swinney could hire a LB coach who could also help with special teams. That would free up Nick Eason to coach the entire DL. I like that idea. And it gives me more stuff to keep digging for.

What you posting AO52, are you saying there's other sites out there that actually cover Clemson. And here I only thought T-Net was the only place for Clemson news.
I guess Ryan got banned from writing on here. Ashamed if he did. He's got wonderful perspective. If you don't catch his podcast, you should.

Valid point about Parker, but then you’ve got examples like Paterson and Denhof, or Mascoll as a really late bloomer. Look back a year and you have Dabo calling out Murphy for taking plays off. It’s been a mixed bag for Coach Hall.

Halls departure seems to have been mutual. Maybe he had a job lined up somewhere, maybe he wanted to be somewhere different, who knows. But he certainly wasn’t fired.

I read it as he wanted some upward mobility and with how Clemson coaches have tended to stay, those opportunities are pretty rare.

Especially a co-coordinator. I guess he's still a co- ord but I could have missed something with Conn.
Not sure who he talked to at Clemson but as soon as the news broke about the coach, a lot of people posted or talked on podcasts about giving nick the job and possibly hiring another coach to help. Not exactly breaking news unless you state that is official.

Let Eason have the entire DL and make Stephone Anthony the on field LB coach with Goodwin staying close to the LB group. I think we could recruit at a very high level with this structure.

What a great man. Credentials? Same boat. I believe there are very good young coaches with children who know they can coach and recruit and still have a life.

But would really like to see us get Mike Ekeler from Tennessee for LB and ST. Can offer him about 700k to get a pay boost and put him at the top of the LB Coach list (for non-Defensive Coordinators).
