CU will win 2 of the 3 in this stupid pool play format and be eliminated from ACC play - mark it down.

POOL PLAY SUCS - and it will always SUC - especially in Baseball in a regional limited tournament -

only question is which idiotic tie-breaker rule gets us this year - my money is on runs allowed - any team eliminated with one loss in a freakin tournament is robbed - Brilliant minds of the ACC already cut the dang field to 10 and 4 of those are play in - yet we still have to do POOL PLAY??? POOL PLAY is for board games.

Just to be clear - POOL PLAY SUCS!!!

And yes - this in fact is my annual POOL PLAY SUCS post...

it's a$$ backwards and uninspiring to play for. I hate it too, but it's just another example of why the ACC sucks and is getting left behind. Thinking like this.

It is what it is and all 10 teams have the same rules.
It's going to be like this because the coaches like it so the crying does no good.

so the coaches think that saving arms for the regionals is OK - I get it - so Frak the ACC tourney and cancel the ### thing altogether. No point in even bothering - what a joke.

Let me be clear - I've coached many a tournament and won more in pool play than lost - but in fact I burnt more arms (cause of the runs allowed tie breaker) and left in more starters (because of the runs scored tie breaker) - You play a tourney to win, period. So the logic breaks pretty quick in my book.

Aren't they really playing for Home Field in the regional ?

Why I understand it, get 2 out of 3 or something like that its Home Field ? Granted the ACCT is not that relevant anymore (for us). Also, I understand it would be GOOD not to go all the way (for us) in the tournament. Rest the arms for when it really counts, the start of the March To Omaha ? (I hear Omaha is actually a nice city, maybe I should fire up the Cherokee (2001 XJ) and check it out if the Lads make it ?)
