Also... you can believe what you want... but the story last

year that ESPN broke about Clemson and FSU to the SEC wasn't just pulled out of thin air. You can hate ESPN all you want, but there was something behind that.
Maybe not a "done deal", etc... but someone was seriously looking at getting out of the ACC for that to break.
Maybe, realistically, it didn't get past the "talking" part with the SEC... but you're kidding yourself if you don't think Clemson has, and is, looking at options.

either the SEC or Big XII at this moment? If you could pin that down then you know we are keeping our options open.

There is no way Clemson wasn't engaged last year when

that story broke... It didn't work out for whatever reason, but there is no way we were not involved for ESPN to break that...
I don't think anything has happened to keep us from looking around now... If anything, adding Pitt and Cuse would fuel that fire more.

In a CFB world where conferences are expanding, poaching, and dying... combined with the new playoff format...
I don't see any way that someone involved with the Clemson administration is not actively engaged in what is going on/available/etc...

I have been thinking that the whole time. But to openly state it, you open yourself up to be blasted....

My question to you (since you keep hinting that you know something) is this: why on earth would you tip your hand ahead of the ACC meetings?? If, in fact, there are discussions, why leak it now? That would make no sense.

http://www.clemsontigers.com/genrel/012812aab.html Clemson Forms Athletic Advisory Committee
Committee Composed of 10 Business Leaders with Strong Ties to Clemson
Jan. 28, 2012
CLEMSON, SC - Clemson Athletic Director, Dr. Terry Don Phillips, has announced the formation of an Athletic Advisory Committee. The committee is composed of 10 successful business leaders with strong ties to Clemson who will provide advice to the department from a strategic planning standpoint. The committee had a two-day meeting earlier this week.
"The nature of college athletics is changing in every area," said Phillips who has been Clemson's Athletic Director for nearly 10 years. "These changes are effecting how Clemson Athletics does business. It is a blessing to have access to successful business leaders who have and are facing similar issues in their industries.
"I have asked these Clemson loyalists to advise us as we strive to take our program to the next level. The candid and productive conversations we had and will have focus on key issues and strategies that will make Clemson athletics as good as it can be."
The Athletic Advisory Committee is composed of discussion leader Harry Frampton, Vail, Colorado; Steve Bond, Georgetown; Jim Bostic, Atlanta; Jim Brown, Florence; Ray Cash, Seneca; Tom Chapman, Atlanta; Charles Dalton, Pickens; Rich Davies, Charlotte; Helen Hill, Charleston; Rodney Williams, Greenville.
"Clemson is one of the top athletic programs in the nation," said Frampton. "We have only one agenda - how to help Clemson Athletics go to the next level.
"Every area of major college sports is being challenged - competition, academic success, student/athlete welfare, compliance, finances, brand marketing and conference structure. Clemson needs to lead change, not react to it.
"This Athletic Advisory Committee is not a decision making body, we are advisory. Clemson has very capable administrators and Boards to make decisions. We commend Terry Don and his staff for involving motivated business leaders in their strategic planning."
The next meeting of the Athletic Advisory Committee is scheduled for June 18 and 19.

ESPN misses stories all the time...

Just because they "report" something doesn't mean it's accurate. As far as whether or not Clemson or FSU have ever talked to anyone at the SEC office, I have no idea. But the SEC has been pretty clear that they want to expand their TV footprint, which they can't do with Clemson, FSU, Miami or Tech. So, I don't see them ever inviting Clemson.
As far as generally looking at options, well, all schools probably did that to some extent last year. Not a conference in the land was left out of the musical chairs. It only makes sense to talk about these things internally and do some analysis.

you guys will ever get an invite to the SEC because of their total arrogance. You guys would be a great fit for the Big 12.
