Opinions on whether or not Hunter Johnson can play a role

in the Tiger's qb situation .I am not asking if Hunter should displace DJ or Cade but I felt more uneasy about the qb spot yesterday than I have in several weeks. Right off hand it just seems we need to be ready to use every arm we have and make sure Hunter is ready to go.But just to be truthful I haven't seen much of Hunter since he was here the first time.Do you think he could contribute?

My guess is that you and I have about the same access to watching practice.

My guess is that Dabo and Streeter think that DJ has earned the starting spot. My guess is that Cade has earned the second spot. My guess is that since they are 8-0, and let me point out very few people are left undefeated at this point, DJ will continue to be one and Cade will continue to be 2, and that Dabo may know where Hunter lies in the depth chart.

He is playing a role: as a mature and calm voice in the QB room. He’s found and is exercising that opportunity.

If something happened to DJ and Cade, then HJ would be the man. That's the only way on the field - no special packages, no planned series nor anything else unless there's a 20+ point lead late in the 4th.

Agree that my confidence in our QBs is a little shaky

I’m a big believer in “just win, baby”, but both guys make me nervous for different reasons. I guess a big part of that is being a fan, but I miss the days of having almost total confidence in our QB. I think I trusted even Tajh a bit more than DJ. Tajh would have an occasional ##### moment, but he also had a lot more spot on moments than DJ.

Haven’t seen enough of Hunter to say how much I trust him, but he was highly recruited and has a lot of game experience. He may not have the ceiling of DJ or Cade, but he could be a serviceable bridge or change of pace in a time of need. I have no doubt that he is a valuable presence in the QB room.

Hunter wanted to come be a GA. He had an extra Covid year of eligibility left. So we got a two fer. We get a GA who is also a capable third option of we need one due to injury.
