Really tired of the fair weather baseball fans. Always blaming the coach. Fire Jack, blah blah blah blah blah. More CWS appearances than most. Not even close to mediocre. Many day they expect better than what we are getting. Really? Why? It's not like we were some incredible power under Wilhelm. If you really think so, check the facts. Yeah he won more ACC titles but that's about the extent of the greatness. He is loved because of his longevity. Also that was when the ACC was weak. ACC is a great, read that, great baseball conference. We are a really good program. Why do you expect more? Facilities? Good. Not great. Coaches salaries? Good. Not great. Players in sc? Very good. Not great. Relatively speaking. If sc hasn't won two all you would not be griping

thing he did wrong was hire Jack. No. I will take that back as it might not have
been a bad thing, at the time ,but we need to look hard at this program, even if we win this tournament.

Danny did not have great record against them but all agree he was great coach and was done very wrong by Clemson admin

rocks while we have winning streaks and are miserable as we do well, then come out shrieking whenever we lose and are just generally annoying.
They never really go away because eventually every team will lose and they get all recharged again which enables them to wait around for the next loss.

Nobody disparaged Coach Wilhelm. I think you could take the time to type Coach in front of his name. I think he earned it. You and the rest of these yahoos in this board don't know baseball. Everyone thinks they know the game because they played it once. Coach Leggett does a great job. Your unrealistic expectations are obvious signs of your lack of comprehension of how the game works.

Ah there it is you must have went to the Jack Leggett fan club school of debate.
Call everyone else an idiot because you dont like what they say.
Fact is he does not do a great job. 1 Conference Title in the last 18 years is not a great job.
Jack is a good/great coach but he is not an elite coach. Clemson will never be a power under him. There is 20 years of data to show that.

Someone tell me how firing Jack Leggett would solve ANYTHING? What has he done wrong. He is trying to win baseball games any way he can. It comes down to a lack of execution from a team without much post-season experience.

What was the excuse last year?
The year before?
Before that?
We used to be an elite program. At one time we had the 3rd longest regional appearance streak of all time. Where are we now as a program? We used to be the team everybody gunned for in the ACC. That faded away several years ago. Back to back years of on the road for regionals,have been on the road for the regionals 3 out of the past 5 years and the last time we hosted we got ousted by a Big East team.
We used to be one of the elite in college baseball. We are now one of the field.
As much as the sunshine pumpers as you obviously are, this isn't an argument about one year.
But since Youth is your only supporting ammunition go ahead and throw that out there once again.

Youth isn't an excuse. It is the truth, but that doesn't mean we can't play good baseball. We started 3 freshman and 2 sophomores today as well as Kennedy who is in his first year of D1 baseball. That's 6/10 guys who have next to no post-season experience. The three pitchers we will throw this weekend: Gossett (sophomore), Crownover (freshman), and Erwin (freshman.) Still think there's no youth on this team?
Jack Leggett isn't leading the same team he was back in Clemson's baseball prime. You can blame that on his coaching or his recruiting but to pin everything on him is just a cop out for people who like to complain. Coaching is important in baseball but this isn't football where everything you do has a play called by a coach. Not playing well in baseball is a lack of execution. The talent is on this team. If you don't think Leggett is putting the right lineup on the field, well then I'm sure there's a pair of white baseball pants in your size if you want to try being "the guy" for a few days. Leggett wouldn't mind a little vacation.

So if youth is not an excuse....what exactly were you trying to say in that post?
And as an aside, I noticed you totally ignored this:

I'm tired of being pinned as a hater of Clemson baseball. I don't hate Clemson baseball, in fact I love Clemson baseball. I am, however, tired of Clemson baseball losing ground in conference and in state to teams that didn't give a good God #### about baseball 10 years ago. I am tired of Clemson baseball flaming out in spectacular fashion in baseball every year. I am especially tired of people worried about a supposed hall of fame coach who has choked every #### time it was on the line than they are about the downward trajectory of our program.

After witnessing today's loss. I withdraw my previous statements. One loss to Liberty is fine. It's baseball, losses happen. You just move on and win the next one and beat the crap out of the chickens. But getting knocked out single handedly by Liberty? A team that barely finished over .500......? There's no excuse for that.
After today's loss, maybe we do start to look elsewhere. But I just hope Radakovich has a surefire replacement and he doesn't just fire Jack and hire some no name guy who will put us even further in the hole.
I just want to clarify though, my previous statements weren't meant to say that youth IS the excuse. I was just saying that this team is still very young but that doesn't matter. Being youthful isn't a valid excuse in baseball, poor coaching and poor play are the only things you can blame. And up until today I thought today's team was just a bunch of guys who had yet to really put it all together. The bats were very hot at points this year, and we had very good pitching at other points this year, but we failed to do both together. And it took TWO losses to Liberty in a regional for me to realize that it isn't JUST the players. Something's got to give. One loss to a bad team is excusable, it's baseball. it happens. Two losses to THE SAME team in a row. There's no excuse for that, especially when Gossett, the guy who has pretty much been the ace all season long is pitching. The dots are starting to connect and the people that were always against making a coaching change (like myself) are starting to say, "Well, maybe it's time to atleast look around." Because it wasn't just this season, like you said. It's been a steady downward slope.
Leggett was a hall of fame coach, he won a ton of ball games, but the more I look at it the harder it is for me to see this Clemson team getting anywhere further than regionals without something changing. The talent is definitely on this team in the incoming recruiting class, but I would hate to see all of that talent (Boulware, Gossett, Crownover, etc.) go to waste.
