Move Ross back to the outside ASAP

This is one of the more baffling moves by this coaching staff this year. Ross is one of the best boundary X receivers in the country. His ability to make contested catches, win on deep balls, make back shoulder catches is his best attributes. These strengths are negated in the slot, it’s just a massive waste of talent using him in that role.

He doesn’t need help in beating press coverage so why put him in the slot? I hope the coaches put on his freshman year tale and remember what this kid can actually do on the field, because right now he is being neutered by this staff.

They wanted to put Ross around linebackers to to get open better....create mismatches. I think EJ Williams would be suited for that position rather than Ross.

I could see Ross in the slot on a few plays but not on every one of them.

Agreed. That experiment has not gone as well as hoped, and Ross looks a bit awkward in the role. Move him back outside, and give someone else a shot at the slot position. Maybe LJD can catch a few passes since he's probably not going to be running the ball much this year!

Ross to the outside
Shipley gets 90% of RB carries
Taylor/stellato to slot
get more creative on offense

the OLine is NOT getting fixed and we just have to deal with that, but the other above "tweaks" can be and would be a start to getting the offense going.


and those who say "you're not a coach, it's like that for a reason"...........it can't get much worse.
