Got Florida Atlantic to play some of these backup receivers we saw yesterday. Figure out which ones give us the best chance to win against Florida State. Get Cade in a rhythm and have a balanced run and pass attack being at home. I still have faith that this game vs FSU is a tossup. Look the talent is there sure there not a well coached or disciplined bunch. Have a lot of things to clean up. But we got the talent and it’s at home so call me crazy but this games a toss up and will be a close one.

Im as big of a Clemson fan as anyone..... FSU is not a toss up. They are going to beat us at least two touchdowns.

You don't know crap yet...that's why we play the game...we get pressure on Travis, beat FSU and we are right back on top...we have a ton of playmakers...not sure FSU has as much depth..Dabo knows what we need to do...can we, will we...FSU will find out in two weeks!

The biggest thing is keep him from scrambling and making plays after it breaks down. Now that is easier said than done because he so quick and elusive, but that's mainly how they get a lot of big plays.

You are correct SC coaching is inferior!
On another note I do not think FSU recruits.
They simply pay players from other teams.
It’s not cheating these days but it won’t last as a solution.
Transfer portal is like any other relationship if they cheat with you they will cheat on you!
Of course in this scenario you may end up being the last one.

This team can play, talent abounds. But guys have to make plays, no mental mistakes, no costly turnovers.
Tigers need to play a great game to win, and I think they can do that. FSU will come out firing, need to match that energy and focus on 1 play at a time

How can you say they “ Clemson” is not well coached?
You say you want to see a balanced attack did you watch the Duke Game. It was almost 50/50..
Turn overs ! Turn overs ! That’s the only reason Duke won the game! Clean up the Turn overs

FSU is playing at a much higher level than us at the moment.
Now could that change? Sure... but it feels like if we played today we would have a rough time against them.
Now could we show up and play our best game and they get over-hyped about it and play poorly... sure.
But if we lined up good on good right now, they have an edge.

Clemson has a legit chance to beat FSU at Death Valley, but only if the following takes place:
Defense:
LBs & Nickel Back must figure out how to cover RBs sneaking out of the backfield for short passes. Duke exposed that deficiency in our coaching &/or player execution.
Our entire defensive unit must execute on solo tackles when they get both arms on the ball carrier.
DBs must continue with their high level of play in not blowing coverages and not getting beat on long and intermediate routes.
Entire DL must maintain their gaps + apply pressure on Travis.
Our defensive unit is capable, personnel-wise, of doing this.
Offense:
RT play has got to get better on passing downs. A sequel of Duke and Chas Southern games spells certain doom.
TE position has got to block better. Ennis does a good job. #9 has got to get serious about blocking.
RBs … no fumbles and keep up good work of catching the ball, and in their good blocking.
WRs - Part 1: Run the right routes and catch the ball. Still too many drops thus far.
WRs - Part 2: We need for both Tyler Brown and Stellato to be ready to contribute mightily as speedy deep threats who end up catching two or three deep passes among them.
QB: Everyone knows where the problems are, and where they must not show up again, for us to have a chance.
Cadence: Limit false start penalties; no false starts inside of red zone. False start at Duke 1 yard line on 1st down was like watching the start of a murder take place.
Special teams:
Punt team (kicking): Block. No ‘foul balls’ when punting the ball. Strive for solid tackles, not show-off ‘kill shot.’
Punt team (receiving): Keep up good work of catching the ball. Catch punts inside the 15 yard line instead of hoping for touchback.
FG unit: Block better. Kick ball with higher trajectory and kick it straight.
This sounds like a lot of impossible things for us to have a chance, but the really well coached teams which also have talented players do this. If we want to be good, then each of the above should be a matter of routine instead a rare exception.

Can we beat FSU? Yes!
Will we remains to be seen. There's a lot of things that need to be cleaned up in 2 weeks. Need to find that right starting lineup at receiver. Need to stop with just absolutely dumb mistakes and focus. Gunn is going to need to be solid as well because we will need every kick opportunity to go our way as well. Front 7 on defense needs to also clean up some minor things as well and tackling and containment will need to be at our best.
I'm still unsure if we have the firepower to just blow the scoreboard up, so we will absolutely have to minimize all mistakes so we don't have to score a ton of points.

Pretty obvious they are going to try to stop the run and look for the Pick6 near the line of scrimmage with those awful side passes Cade lobs over to Ship. They will leave the middle and deep open and dare Cade to use it, so if he does, we can get up by a couple scores(provided we dont gift them a turnover) and then use Ship and Maf to use time up. Our Defense is adequate enough to limit them if we dont turn it over and IF we can get ahead our Offense can keep Travis off the field.
