They just aren’t in the lake unless you are way up the rivers. Used to fish lake Cayuga in the spring for Smallies. Would catch 20-30 in a few hours

They still in Seneca Lake? Used to catch them non stop in 17-20 feet of water on edges of weeds. Great perch fishing as well.

They are only in Keowee, Jocassee, and the Broad River. This fish was in the Saluda River and I can look at it and tell it's not a smallmouth.

was only a yankee for 6 years but has fond mammaries of catching smallies in some of the most well renown smallie waters in the midwest and northeast.
Some fisheries I've caught smallies in over the years:
St Clair
Percy Priest
Old Hickory
Kentucky Lake
Lake Barkley
Center Hill
Wheeler
Guntersville
Pickwick
Lake James
South Holston
Dale Hollow
Woods reservoir
Douglas Lake
Ohio River
Cesar's Creek
Rocky Fork
And many many more.
PR is 5-14. I have probably 5 over 5lbs, maybe 20+ over 4lbs.
Been to Dale Hollow....maybe 50 times?
Don't get me started on largemouf son.
