Martavis made the right choice

May 10, 2014, 11:20 AM

Obviously this is my opinion. MB got a lot of one-on-one coverage last season. I can't remember why;) This season he would've been bracketed AND have a first year starter throwing to him.

The fact is that MB wasn't a highly productive player. He isn't very physical, and he drops too many balls he should catch.

I think the chances of him falling in the draft were greater if he returned, maybe a 7th round/FA guy. No way he moves up into the first round. He would've had to have an 80 catch, 1200 yard, 10+ TD season to do that.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt

and assume you're had some sort of horrible hammer impact to your skull.

As the #2/3 receiver last season he had

42 catches
828 yards
7 TD's

He's never going to put up 80 catches, but 60 catches would put him well above you yardage and Td's.

Going to assume you get off on acting like a caveman on the internet

How is he suppose to catch the ball with two guys on him? He can barely catch with one guy in coverage. He doesn't have great hands.

Plus, we don't have one proven play maker on offense coming back. Not one. Talent? Yes. Playmakers? No.

Nope, Bryant wouldn't get doubled much

May 10, 2014, 11:39 AM

He might see some bracket coverage, but I'm not sure if you saw him running by safeties last year, but that's sort of his thing. Sammy was doubled last year and we still managed to throw him the ball. Bryant is always open anyway because DB's can't cover him above his shoulders. Maybe, just maybe, another year of playing would allow him to develop his hands. If he has the dropsies in the NFL, it won't matter where he was drafted, because he won't be on a roster.

So, your argument is he should declare early

because he isn't good? Interesting strategy.

If you and I know about accouting for such things

when analyzing stats then NFL GM's know as well.

Coming back was more about a year of development then stats and brackets.
