As a recruit in 2021 commiting to Clemson, Phil Mafa was the #11 rated RB on 247 Sports. If that class was re-ranked he could make a case statistically as the #1 - #2 RB.

7 of the RB's ranked higher have transferred to other schools.

Keep in mind that Shipley was ranked as the #4 RB in this same class.

Edwards is a very good back. Estime is a very good back. Brooks was really good this year.

Also alot of guys that have done little to nothing though.

Yep, Edwards split carries, as did Mafa.

Goes to show a lot of these recruits don't pan out.

Mafa committed knowing there was a higher rated back coming in (Shipley). So he obviously wasn't afraid of a little competition.
