LSU names Kevin Steele DC (for real!)....

LSU looking to attain 8-5 normalacy. A move I thought only the bonehead Coots could make something this lame.

He must not be that bad if Bama and LSU have hired him.

I just think he lacked talent and of course the Orange bowl fiasco did him in. Yea coaches are good but come on it comes down to talent on the field

Look at dabo, he is winning and doesn't exactly have the coaching experience some big names have. I would dare say Hugh freeze and others that were long time high school coaches, coordinators, etc would have much more X and O experience than dabo. However, dabo has brought in the talent which is what wins on gameday.

Sure Saban and urban are good and have been around the game for some time. I would suggest their success is more based on nfl talent than than them being that much better than some other winners.

Morris was good but he had more offensive NFL talent than had ever been assembled at Clemson. I do think Venables is good but even he has seemingly improved as the talent has improved with him

If he has a defense full of 5/4 star recruits, he maybe can watch after them. But he can't coach them up, just ask WV about that, or see Orange Bowl 2011, and points scored against Clemson 2011 season!!!

Agree. He's a decade behind as far as defensive adjustments.***

I remember many games praying our O could just have the ball

last. That's how bad his defenses were. WV was the icing on the cake - there were many bad games under Steele. If we didn't have Tajh and Eillington we might have had losing records the Steele years.

And I don't blame the players.

Hope they don't mind him calling plays from his days at the Panthers. By the way, he will be the only one who knows what plays he's calling. a la west virginia in the orange bowl.
