Very true. I have coached high school baseball for 20 years and I can assure you that things are a lot easier sitting in the stands than when you are on the field. I'm not a Jack appologist, but some people who give him a hard time have no idea what they are talking about.

When something becomes the "norm" or "status quo," something needs to change and that starts from the top. Sure it's easy to bash a coach, but when you're having the same concerns/conversations year-in and year-out, the inevitable needs to occur. Bobby Bowden won 2 national championships, but FSU all of a sudden was mired in mediocrity. They made the needed change and now look where they're at.

Bowden became aloof. It wasn't that his decisions were being criticized, it was that he seemed senile and hired his kids who obviously couldn't coach.
If we go another year or two in the wrong direction, a change will be made. But what this message board has done to our team this year is wrong.
