Losing 18-1 sucks. But as a player or coach for most of my life, I have found it easier to recover from a blowout than a tight loss. Tight losses can lead to fingerpointing and loss of confidence. You get your butt thoroughly kicked and it's easier to just flush it and move on.

Weird stuff happens. Last year I didn’t know if we would make the postseason. Then we won 16 in a row with a very suspect pitching staff.

Let’s just find a way to win the series. Win each of the next two games by 1 run, and I’ll be happy as can be. Winning series is the goal. 👍

…I have never liked hearing this “excuse” from a coach, because it’s just a flat out lie.

This type of loss IS a reflection of your team. The score would put a huge blame on BOTH pitching and hitting.

Wow…just wow! If you’re ranked in the Top 10, and you lose to a Kennesaw State team that was 1-3 with a lone win against UAB, you’ve got some serious problems, both MENTALLY and TALENT-wise.

Bakich says that this loss was on him. OK…if this truly was on him, then, he’s got a lot of learning to do that doesn’t bode well for this team.

I certainly expected A LOT MORE from Bakich.

IMHO there is NOTHING worse in sports that LOSING to a team you are NOT supposed to lose to, much less get run out of your own stadium by such a team.

My take here is that this loss SAYS A LOT about this team. Geez….
