Jet Sweep..

With how well that play was working Saturday, I can only imagine how much better it would have been with a 100% DW.. Coots kept selling out every time (still couldn't stop it) we put Scott in motion, so with a mobile Watson we probably would have had 2 players with over 100 rushing yards and possibly "63-17 part II"..

I cannot wait for next season to get here now, because there is something very special brewing up in those hills, and it's coming very soon!!!

That play will be even more potent when Watson is healthy, imagine many teams taking the bait and going after scott only for Watson to gash them up the middle. Not only that Watson could also have the option to pitch it to the RB to add even more headache for defenses.

Also the little shovel pass instead of a handoff is a very clever move as if the ball is dropped by Scott running the sweep it only counts as a drop pass not a fumble.

Would had been even better if Chad Morris had utilized that play throughout the year.

But yes with a healthy Watson able to run, it could be impressive to see next season.

To be fair that play worked because of Watson as defenders attacked Watson thinking he'll carry the ball Scott being the fake. With Cole taking the snap nobody would buy him running the ball and Scott would go down for a big loss.

Secondly, I am sure Cole would turn that little shovel pass into an interception somehow. lol

Morris did call that same play multiple times throughout the year

with only modest success including one fumble. It was the perfect play against USC because
1. Their d-ends are built like offensive guards and have no speed. Scott just ran right around them.
2. Their cornerbacks are small and couldn't get off our WR blocks. Plus they can't tackle so they were exploited.

The only times they stopped it is when their linebacker and safeties cheated up. We could've faked it and hit a couple wide open deep balls late but by that point we were just running clock

Good analysis there man. I was waiting for the fake jet sweep deep ball the whole 2nd half.. I just knew we were going to run it! Lol
