Jack Leggett back in town

According to someone in the baseball program, Leggett called a meeting yesterday with all the players he recruited and assistants Lecroy and Owens. They were in the dugout at Doug Kingsmore for 45 mins and Jack was speaking like he is still the coach saying things like WE will be better and WE will get over the hump this year. Lecroy & Owens along with some players were brought to tears. Jack is back and sounds like Monte is going to have difficulty keeping him away. The man has lost his mind - he has been fired for 3 months!

Maybe you don't know the details. I'm sure Jack still loves Clemson and is passionate about the program. And I'm sure Monty was classy enough to grant some latitude here.
He may not be the coach anymore but he did alot for Clemson. Letting him speak to the players is harmless and I'm sure he earned it.

SpartanTiger, please stop trying to stir it up. Yes, Jack spoke to the team yesterday and I have no doubt that it was sanctioned by Monte. It was a classy move by both.
How can he not refer to Clemson as "we". As a two year letterman, or so you claim, you likely refer to Clemson as "we". Even fans who never played sports in any capacity refer to Clemson as "we". It's what fans do and, love him or not, Jack is a Clemson fan.
It's in his heart and in his blood and part of his life for three decades. Cut the man some slack.
He got the opportunity to speak directly to the boys he recruited and coached. At least give him that without crushing him for it. Again, classy move by both Monte and Jack.

How in the world is this even news????? Jack never got a chance to say goodbye to the guys he brought in and sweated with and Coach Lee was gracious enough to allow it. Kudos to both parties, it is Monte's program now but hopefully Jack knows that people respect him and would love to see him on campus whenever he wants.
