Commentator Wed said that coach hoped to have her back by next wknd series. That is the last I heard anything about Knowler. They were talking about Cagle being back this wknd and Knowler hopefully the following.

They don’t play the same with Cagle in the lineup. They started to find an identity without her and were playing great ball. I can’t quite put my finger on the difference. They aren’t laughing and having fun like they were.

Been puzzled in the same way. Chemistry just doesn’t seem right. Easy to understand players stepping up knowing Valerie is out, but to lose focus and/or effort when she’s in the lineup doesn’t make sense.

Agree with both of you. This whole series, even the game we won was stoic. One of the strikeouts that Val had today early in the game was unbelievable. The pitcher was ok, wasn't throwing a lot of rises... and she missed the ball what looked to be 2 feet. I know it wasn't but it looked as if she wasn't even paying attention to the ball. It was awkward. I'm going to pray it's not something serious. But we have problems even without her... but it definitely changes when she's in.

She dressed for the game today (UVA 3). I heard she was slated to get a PH at-bat but never did.
