Interesting stats heading into the game Sat

Clemson's rankings

Passing - 8th

Rushing - 61st

Points For - 10th

Points Against - 18th


USC rankings

Passing - 39th

Rushing - 25th

Points For - 33rd

Points Against - 20th


Not sure what to take from it other than USC seems pretty balanced. Not a world beater in either passing or rushing but balanced

Clemson world beater in points and passing, means the only way a loss creeps in is time of possession and ball control keeping the powerful O off the field

A few quick scores and this one is over. they don't have the O power to come back from an early stampede

Lack of an early stampede and points and it will change drastically. If they are hanging around by start of 3rd I will be worried, however if Clemson takes 2 or 3 score lead into 3rd it is over no quick strike offense over there

to play conservative both offensively and defensively, trying to sit on the lead and milk clock. Uncle Fester just took advantage of Missouri's stupidity.

I think Clemson's O is better than Mizzou's meaning if Clemson got a chance to have a several score lead, it would be more than 17 for them to have to come back from

While I am by no means 100% confident that we will win, that is only because I don't know how our offense will react in this game to adversity. We are notorious for turning a bad series into several and beating ourselves when things don't go right. That being said, I think we are the better team. The key to this game is simple. USuC is fairly easy to make one dimensional. We slow Davis down (or whoever is running the ball) and we run the ball. They will play two deep safeties quite a lot to reduce the opportunity for our big play WR. We have to run the ball up the middle to force them to bring those safeties up and boom, deep ball to Sammy and Bryant. We must take advantage of what they give us and hit the big plays when there. We don't have to play perfect, just execute and it will be a double digit win. If we turn the ball over and miss opportunities it will be more of the same. It starts with Boyd and his reaction to things that go wrong, and things will go wrong at some point.
