This is obviously not the forum to give my long opinion on this but it is a fascinating subject and it comes up often, so here goes:

1. I believe that we do have a great deal to be thankful for in America. Our founders created a country and government structure that I believe attempted to follow the guidance of our creator. Along the way we have fallen from the greatest times of our nation and will continue to fall absent leadership and morals.

However,

2. I respectfully have a different opinion regarding the "end times". Do any of us have any clue when this will happen? No, but if the proof of it happening soon is that the world leadership and the morals of the world are worse than those of the past, I don't see that as legitimate proof. A review of history shows that far more egregious acts have been perpetrated by governments and churches alike. These institutions forced things on its people that most of our current world would not even dream of doing. The Bible itself gives accounts of entire societies being enslaved and murdered. As bad as Obama is, he is far better than many of the so called leaders of the past. While I believe that we have a long way to go to meet the standards of our Lord, I do not believe that this time is worse or even as bad as many in history. Israel is under attack but this has happened many times throughout history and when Obama is out I believe we will move to the right side of this issue because the American people are still with them.
The other commonly used proof of the "end times" are the frequent natural disasters. Our earth is the most hospitable known planet which is a miracle from God for sure. However, natural disasters of far greater scale than in recent times have been happening to this earth through out its history and are inevitable and largely uncontrolled or even influenced by man.

3. Lastly, this universe and the earth that we live on are vast and complicated. As smart as we think we are, we have barely scratched the surface in regards to understanding our surroundings. I believe that God created such a universe so that his people can study and understand it. In many ways I believe it will be the way that God reveals himself to us. If it is to end so quickly, why create such a complicated environment?

Obviously this is just one mans opinion and I have been wrong many times in my life.
