I'm a little concerned about our DE position

With Pagano gone, I don't think we'll have the luxury of moving Wilkins to DE like last year. I feel pretty good about the starters in Bryant and Ferrell, but Austin has been injury prone. So, I'm not sure we can count on him to play 14-15 games relatively healthy. Once you get past Clelin and Austin, we don't have anyone proven. Register has gotten snaps, but he seems more of a short term fill-in guy to give the main guys a breather. Based on what I've seen, he doesn't appear to have the athleticism, length or strength to be a long term answer at that position should it be required.
IMO, we are really going to need at least 2 guys out of Jordan Williams, Xavier Kelly, and Justin Foster to play meaningful and effective snaps at DE for our defense to truly unlock its potential.

Hopefully Xavier Kelly steps up this year. He has a ton of potential and was a big time recruit.

I don't know what to expect out of DE's beyond Bryant and Ferrell, but I think we have the interior depth to still have the option of sliding Wilkins out of need be. Dexter is of course, possibly the best interior D Lineman in the country. Huggins has had a fair amount of playing time and is progressing well. And I think there are going to be at least 2 others who will be ready to step up and produce (Nyles Pickney is gonna give people fits, so he is one). I hate Yeargin went down and I hate Lesamuel Davis left, but I think we will be more than fine.

J Foster could play at DE as well. Kid is already huge for a lb.

I'm not the least bit concerned.I'm not getting paid by Clemson to worry myself about things that are out of my control.

It's our Dline. How many times has it been said the past few years Clemson loses (fill in the blank) from the Dline, who's going to step up. We lost 6 guys off of our DL a couple years back most of those are on NFL rosters. what did we do? Next man up. didnt miss a beat.

We have way more reliable depth at DT than DE so yeah we would still be able to move CW back out to DE if needed. Huggy bear and Pinkney are legit.

Wasn't Register a highly rated LB? Crazy for this guy to just fall off the radar...

I always hate to lose a player, but look at who is left. Everyone is 6'5 265 and can run. Kelly I see being a monster off the edge when he gets in. I think we are fine.

You can just move CW back when needed. Kelly is there as well. We should be good unless we get the injury bug bad

That messes with defensive tackle depth though. It will all work out, but only if we don't have injuries. If there are injuries, we're going to have some interesting positional decisions to make.
