Published June 05, 2014 Associated Press Facebook0 Twitter0 Gplus0 ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia players James DeLoach and Jonathan Taylor face "significant additional internal discipline" but no suspensions after being accepted into a pre-trial intervention program Thursday for their March arrests for illegal check cashing.
DeLoach, Taylor, and two former Georgia players — safety Tray Matthews and wide receiver Uriah LeMay — appeared in Clarke County State Court on Thursday. Misdemeanor charges for the four will be dropped if they complete the program.
ADVERTISEMENT Matthews was dismissed from the team by coach Mark Richt on Tuesday. LeMay has left Georgia and plans to transfer.

According to a statement released by Georgia, DeLoach and Taylor face discipline from the athletic association and the football program.

We were a small military school for many years playing in the Southern Conference. When the ACC was formed , it had higher academic standards for recruits than the SEC which put our teams at a diisadvantage. That and Georgia was a much higher profile program.

Not hard to explain at all...

Georgia has always been a well-funded football power with access to a deep well of excellent talent. Clemson was, for many years, a small military and engineering-oriented male only school with strict enrollment standards.
So, for the bulk of our games together, it was essentially a David-Goliath scenario. Your guys were usually more talented, seasoned and most of the games were played in Athens.
Clemson finally found its footing and the games became those great slobber-knockers us Silverbacks recall in the 70s and 80s. It became more of a Clemson-FSU (Georgia-Florida for y'all) battle, and your administration decided it was no fun getting smacked around half the time. You quit playing us ... and I imagine after we win this time, you'll find a reason not to play us for another decade or so.
Simply, and to quote the radio ads, past performance is no indication of future results.

20 something more home games and you don't get it?

Seems pretty simple math to me. 45 teams finished with atleast a single vote in the 2014 Final rankings. THUGA wasn't one of them. It marvels me why Jawjaw fans think they amount to anything in the cfb world.
Get back with us when your boys win a significant bowl and finish #7 in the country.

Mark Richt has coached at Georgia for 13 seasons. During that time his teams have: -finished in the top 10 in 7 out of 13 seasons. -won 6 SEC divisional titles... -won 2 SEC Championships -been to a Bowl game every single year -only 1 losing record.
clemson in those same 13 seasons?..........waiting.

-Saban took 10 seasons to win his first one as a head coach. -Dooley was a head coach for 17 seasons when the Dawgs won one in 1980. -Bobby Bowden took 28 years as a head coach and 18 years at Florida State before winning one. -Joe Paterno won his first one in his 17th year. -Mac Brown - took 22 years. -Tom Osborne took 22 years at Nebraska to win his first one. And! -Paul "Bear" Bryant won his first one in his 17th year as a head coach.
When you look at Coach Richt's record vs. these guys in their first 13 years of coaching, it compares very favorably. He's surrounding himself with key missing pieces to his puzzle, like Coach Pruitt. We think he has a bright future. Time will tell.

Fact is you recently lost to Vandy and can't compete

with ACC schools. It's how you finished with your best QB in your history and were very mediocre at best. Glad you're happy finishing barely above 500 and can't win sub par bowls with zero fan participation bordering your state.
Other coaches have come and gone in much shorter tenures and gotten the job done in the SEC. Take a look at LSU and UF. THUGA is just another middle of the road conf team now.

GA lost 31 -27 on the road in one of the worst officiated games ever. Vandy went 7-1 to finsih the year at 9-4.
You recently lost a bowl game to WV 70-33 who have since gone 11-14. CU has one ACC title since 1991....want to elaborate more on that "middle of the road" talk now?

As our coot "friends" have taught us, history doesn't matter. The only thing that counts is who won the last game. That was CLEMSON.

these types of issues continue to occur so frequently at UGa. The players have no fear of facing any real serious discipline.

Did the department issue these two checks? Or were they forged? Big difference. If they were issued I can't fault the players... They are kids and most of all JawJa football players..... This they aren't too bright.

They were $71 stipend checks from the university that they tried to double cash. First electronically through mobile deposit apps then at a check cashing place.
Pretty darn dumb, but I can't cast stones when it comes to less than intelligent decisions as a young man.

From what they posted it seems like they don't care add long as uga wins.
They made no comments on the disciplinary actions or on uga recent history with criminals.
All they did was post uga records and Clemson records.
God help thier children if they have kids.

Then it is only fair to also note that Richt dismissed one of the four individuals involved for the simple violation of arguing with a professor, and also "encouraged" the fourth violator to transfer.
Anyone who is a parent should understand that all transgressions are not equal, and the punishments for said transgressions are directly related to the level of remorse and understanding shown by the transgressor(s). For example, when my teenage son makes a mistake, which ALL teenagers are bound to do, I can tell when he is truly remorseful and understanding of what he did wrong, and also when he still just doesn't get it. Needless to say, the punishment is much more severe when the latter occurs.
In this instance, I feel Richt's punishments are wholly justified as he is dealing with the perpetrators on a case by case basis. Those who get it, are handled more gently than those who don't.
