UGa and Bama can get to and win

championships without elite QBs. Clemson struggles to win a terrible ACC and can’t even beat mediocre teams from the SEC without generational QB play. Why? Because they have far more talent and far superior coaching!
People will defend Dabo and say it’s only been a couple of years. Yeah. And other than Dabo basically the entire coaching staff has been replaced by a bunch of Clemson players and high school coaches and we don’t have near the talent from three years ago either.
Dabo’s arrogance and stubbornness is trashing the program he built! And people will defend him until we’re having losing seasons. And make no mistake we easily could’ve had a losing season this year. We barely won a handful of games against inferior talented teams because of Dabo’s arrogance and stubbornness and basically a high school coaching staff.

The game has radically changed since our last national championship.
And you’re absolutely right. With the exception of the playoffs, we should win every game because we do have more talent than pretty much everyone. We played all year this year and last year. But we’re struggling because our OL is mediocre and has been since the Danny Ford years. And because our coaching is pathetic!
You are helping me make my point. We should be winning our games Handley with the talent we have. Our weaknesses are the OL and coaching. But players like Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence overcame that. I think cade can as well, but he didn’t practice with the starters at all until the week before the ACCCG. And unlike Watson and Lawrence, he didn’t get any significant playing time in games during the regular season before becoming the starter. Last night was his first start as a quarterback.
Not one single coach on the offensive side of the ball at Clemson has ever coached in the NFL or at a power five program. The only one that’s even coached at another college program is Streator and that was Richmond and liberty.
We have less talent than when we won those championships and we have a completely different coaching staff. A staff that doesn’t know what they’re doing and hasn’t been developing the players we’ve brought in.

Also, I was right about everything with Covid and got banned. Not one person on here that drank the Kool-Aid when it came to Covid has admitted they were wrong about everything. And you have people on the left in the media saying let’s just forgive people and move on. No he's not right at all. Arrogance ? Is Dabo Swinney's belief in himself and the team that he's built based on results and the knowledge of how very hard they work to be the team that they want to be ? Yes. Does it mean they'll win National Championship games every other year , absolutely not.
But arrogant? That's a poor choice of a descriptor when you look at what the man does today , and HAS done for now 13 years as the head coach at Clemson.
Nobody rests on their laurels that wants to maintain a high level of job performance, and rest assured that Dabo Swinney isn't.
An 11-3 season and yet another conference championship and y'all are falling all over yourselves to talk down one of the best head coaches ever in CFB ....not just at Clemson , but historically so.
Check the record right up to now. Some of y'all make me wonder what has happened to the Clemson fanbase.

People like you think you’re right because you point out an exception. You’re missing the big picture because you’re so fixated on being right because you find a couple of exceptions rather than seeing the trend and the big picture.
Stetson Bennett has been a joke with Georgia fans and even the media. Nobody wanted him at quarterback last year and they even wanted him replaced this year.
Alabama and Georgia have gotten to the playoffs and won championships with guys that were not five star QBs coming out of high school and fans, and the media didn’t support.
And you’re showing your complete lack of reading comprehension. Nowhere did I say they did not have good quarterback play. I said they have not had five star QBs. They have not had generational type quarterbacks. They can still get to the playoffs and win with the guys that play well, but aren’t going to be franchise quarterbacks in the NFL. Clemson cannot. That’s the point. Learn to read and comprehend.

Which one of those is elite?
If those guys were starting at Clemson, we would barely win the ACC. If we even won the ACC. Despite the fact that we have far superior talent that any other team in the conference. Look at how we have struggled the last two years. Barely won the ACC and lost to SEC teams that are mediocre.

Mac Jones was elite in college. The guy was a 1st round draft pick and had a good rookie year in the NFL. He was elite in college though. He was a Heisman finalist. That said, Bama plays with elite qbs generally speaking. Most teams that win it all have an elite QB.

Stetson Bennett has played well because of the talent and coaching around him. Despite winning a national championship people thought he would transfer because the fans don’t really support him and wanted to him replaced with a true generational talent. Statistics and wins do not make you an elite player. Boyd leads to ACC in almost every QB category. Never played a down in the NFL. He was a great college quarterback. But not elite or generational.
Nick Saban and Alabama won national championships with AJ, McCarron, Greg, McElroy, Mac Jones, and Stetson Bennett. Which one of those has ever been called an elite or generational quarterback? Which one of those will be a franchise quarterback in the NFL? Zero. None.
Clemson can’t win without a Deshaun Watson or Trevor Lawrence. Georgia and Alabama can and do. You’re not reading and comprehending.

Alabama has their last 3 or 4 QBs in the league, Bryce Young is undoubtedly elite, and Stetson Bennet is playing as well as or better than any QB is the country.

We’ve won more championships than Georgia. Generational QBs aren’t idiots that why we get them.
I think we have one now. We set him back this year by not allowing him to practice with 1st team players until the ACC championship, but I’m hopeful he can overcome it.

Had we made the playoffs last year or this year We would’ve been obliterated. Tennessee embarrassed us last night. It’s embarrassing that we lost to South Carolina. We are far more talented than both of those programs. We have terrible coaching and a terrible OL.
We won national championships because of Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence. Without them, we don’t win. That is the point that you and other people are missing because you’re so fixated on defending Dabo. And you say look at the record. Yeah and we struggled to beat teams with far less talent in the terrible ACC. And we lose to mediocre SEC programs. Why? Terrible coaching. Terrible OL. We need Deshaun Watson or Trevor Lawrence to overcome that.
I agree about Cade. He was never given a chance. Never even practiced with the starters until the week before the ACCCG. Last night was his first start. His mistakes are inexperience. And that again is because of poor coaching!

IMO, If we started Cade week 1 this year, we are playing for the national Championship against UGA. He is that kind of talent. Whether that's Dabo or Streeter is up for debate. IF I'm the OC and QB coach, there's no way in hell DJ is starting a game this year.

You do realize that we don’t have a single coach on the offensive side of the ball with NFL or power five coaching experience. The only coach on offense with any experience outside of Clemson is Streeter at Richmond and liberty. It’s not much better on the defensive side of the ball. This is the worst coaching staff in college football. We’re winning on talent alone. But it’s the poor coaching that causes all that talent to struggle against bad team and lose against mediocre SEC teams.

I think you are over estimating how good these other coaches are. The players know, play the best guys with no agenda. We are a super talented team. Just look at the night and day difference in Ngata between Cade and DJ. Or look at Shipley's face in the postgame when Dabo's talking up cade. He's like "no ####, this guy can actually play. I don't have to talk about how great DJ was during the screening of Sonic 2, I can say this guy is a good football player."

We lost 2 of them.
Cade was 179 pounds and not ready for the game in week 1. He's practiced all year and played in 5 games. He still looked like a freshman on Friday
DJ was winning games while Cade was developing. That's really all there was to it.
We're not a national championship team, sir, and trying to force Cade too early wouldnt have change that.

DJ never played good or great... or even above average. HIS BEST GAME WAS A LOSS TO ND AS A TRUE FRESHMAN. Play Cade against GT, Furman , and La Tech. all the freshman mistakes get worked out. We run through the ACC and SC. We are in the playoffs with a hot young QB. It's so simple.
Instead we were struggling to win games with DJ and no backups got time because we couldn't put ANYONE away. When DJ failed, we just threw Cade in there to rescue the offense, even though he hasn't had 1 snap with the 1st team offense in practice. That's insane. His first reps with the 1st team were before the ACC championship. Why were the coaches so afraid of seeing him play with the 1st team?

There’s a difference in a guy playing well and being considered elite and generational. When you have superior coaching and superior talent around you and a great OL, you can play well as a QB. At Clemson Deshaun Watson and Lawrence had to overcome all of those deficiencies.
Clemson has to have generational QB play to win. Georgia and Alabama can take guys that are good and play well because of coaching and talent around them and win championships. That’s the difference and you would understand that if you read and comprehended what I wrote!
Georgia fans have wanted to replace Stetson Bennett the entire time he has been there. People talked about would he transfer after winning the national championship last year because people thought he wouldn’t be the starter this year. Because he’s not a generational talent. Yes, he has played well. I never stated otherwise. But a lot of that has to do with the coaching and talent around him. Things Clemson does not have. Learn to read and comprehend!

How would Stetson Bennett do at Clemson without all of the talent and coaching he has at Georgia?
How did Mac Jones do at Clemson without the talent and coaching around him at Alabama?
I think we both know the answer to that question which proves my point.
Clemson only gets there and wins with a Deshaun Watson or a Trevor Lawrence. Georgia and Alabama do not need that.
Cade has the talent also. But we don’t have the talent around him that Watson or Lawrence had nor does he have the same coaching staff. He also doesn’t have the experience because unlike Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence he didn’t practice starters during the week and didn’t get any game experience.

The sad thing is you really think you’re right. My God people like you know absolutely nothing about football. Did you watch our games this year? Did you see how badly we played against teams that don’t have half of our talent? Did you see how many games that we had to pull out of our butt at the end because we struggled the entire game? we easily could’ve lost enough games to have a losing season this year. We were lucky to have a winning season last year. You people simply look at the wins, but don’t know a #### thing about actual football on the field. You would know a quality product on the field if you were standing on the sideline watching.
South Carolina and Tennessee are mediocre teams. We lost both of those games and struggled in both of those games. We would’ve had a losing record this year and last year had we played in any other power five conference. We are struggling and barely beating terrible ACC teams that don’t have half of our talent.

You can also point to one other issue that was quite apparent to any one watching how Tennessee pushed Clemson around on both sides of the line.
It is called strength and conditioning.
